We learn in the second interlude that Cultivation is starting to work against Odium. I think her visiting Dalinar is a part of that.

The way Wit's writing is described you can tell he is writing out timestamps. This reminds me of how Sazed would transcribe a coppermind. Also, I agree, its probably Aonic

The on-world individual is definitely Cultivation. The "old friend" is either Frost, Valor, or Intellect. Frost likes contracts and is an old friend, but is very firm in his vow of non-interference. Intellect is the final Shard that has not been officially named, and Brandon said that we would have confirmation of its name this book; I could see a Shard of Intellect being very useful in finding exploits. My money, however, is on Valor: Harmony recommended that Hoid reach out to Valor in his last letter, and Valor is someone who would likely have good advice considering the context of this contract.

I really liked these chapters; Day One was pretty slow, the calm before the storm, but also had a few scenes/moments I thought were just not well written. Day 2 is shaping up well, and the framing device of Not Asleep was neat. When it was previously released as a draft, I quite liked Jasnah's PoV here, and I like it even more now. I just finished my RoW reread, and the Jasnah/Hoid relationship was so poorly communicated in that book that it stretched belief; I just did not see how either would enter into this partnership, and the book did nothing to sell me on it. This one scene made me realize *why* either of them would pursue this relationship while also signaling that it likely can't work out. I like the light it shines on Hoid's flaws, as well as some of the emotional vulnerability of Jasnah that we rarely see. This revision of it only heightened that emotional insight, turning a good scene into a great one. I also like Gawx's feelings of insecurity; partly tied into the responsibilities forced onto him as "emperor," partly tied to just expectations of masculinity as he compares himself to the Blackthorn.

The Sibling didn’t dictate the original agreement, it wasn’t even awake. The implication is that because it is an agreement between Shards, the Sibling is naturally able to quote the ‘wording’ of the agreement - due to some Spiritual mumbo jumbo I assume, since the Sibling is the child of Honor.
