While I commend the score study, I'm sorely lacking in melody from this piece. Sounds a lot like DCI stuff. Miss the real classics.

The composer was/is the arranger of the Ohio State Marching Band so take that into account when you're listening to his pieces. It is minimal and crude in melodic development, but also keep in mind this is a contest piece for younger bands so the goal is to compose a work they can play and also be excited by and engaged with
