A high % of viewers not subscribed is indictive of a healthy channel. If more that 50% of your viewers are subscribed it means that YT isn't really recomending your videos to new viewers. That would be bad. 20-30% of your viewers being subscribed means you are constantly getting recomended to new viewers. Less than 10% generally means you're clickbaiting or people don't like you and you should worry.

I've never understood why creators think viewers will care about their subscriber percentages. If you remind me to subscribe, and I like your content, then I'll subscribe...you don't need to guilt me into it.

Hey dude, a lot of POE channels focus on showing off builds without much explanation. It feels like they assume we already finished our Masters in the game. I really appreciate you taking the time to tell us why some skills are good so we can make builds in the future.

I feel it's also necessary to point out some enemies have Resolute Technique, making this keystone (Wind Dancer) a very dangerous pick against them. Most notably, two rogue exiles: Xandro Blooddrinker and the shield charging cleaving dude (forgot his name). The second one is always found in Smuggler's Stash encounters in Delve, so it's the kind of node I'll go out of my way to avoid on my evasion characters.

Man, your videos are so good. I have never been this excited to watch a series on PoE, ever. You help me think of new ways use nodes in interesting ways to create builds. Thank you :)

Appreciate the kinds words, and that's exactly the intention! In my mind the most fun thing about PoE is it's crazy mechanics and interactions and if I can inspire people to try some fun stuff, mission accomplished!

Great summary. Though you glossed over how much of a difference 95% evade is to 87% evade. Even with the more damage taken this amounts to 116% increased EHP. So as long as you are not getting 1 shot (easier said than done) this is MASSIVE.

Yeah I think in general talking about EHP with regards to any kind of avoidance mechanic is generally misleading, and the only time it's not is when you can guarantee exactly what you are getting hit by in a controlled environment. Going from 87% to 95% is pretty huge though, agreed.

This is very cool series, i subscribed :D I am a fairly new player, i reached endgame this league ( lv 93 ) with build i found online ( Impending Doom Occultist )and liked and adjusted it a bit to my liking by the end. I would like to try my own build, but i dont know how to even start because there is so much interactions and so many possibilities that i do not know about that it is staggering. This keystone series helps me with ideas like, "oh this keystone has a nice interaction, maybe if paired with this type of a skill.." ..and you have a general outlook of some build and know what you want to achieve XD

Following build guides are great whilst you learn different aspects of the game. It's a great idea to look and question why you use specific passive skills or skills/gear while you follow a guide, and this helps to understand the makeup of a build. I'm glad you're enjoying the series! I think mechanics and interactions are almost always the best inspiration for buildcraft, so I'm happy if people can take from these videos and be inspired to create a new build :)

Yeah I'd suggest following different builds for a while to understand what makes a good build. Then you can start making your own.

Hey dude, are you only doing timeless and on the atlas keystones? Theres on on a small cluster i've been thinking quite a bit about recently. I did a 2x nebulis divine ire this league, but reaching the max res was a bit of a pain. This jewel gives +10% max res but the downside seems soo huge and i was wondering if there are any mechanics to kind of ignore or offset the downside. Its the Veteran's Awareness keystone. Would be cool if you kind of review the keystone and see if there are any notable interactions. Also loving this series so far. Very neat idea.

Hey! No keystones are off limits but some are not really worthy of a full video dedicated to that topic. Someone else also asked about Veteran's Awareness a few days back, and I think whilst it is an interesting keystone, it's effect essentially makes your character stronger defensively when they are already at their strongest(during guard skill) and weaker defensively when they are at their weakest. It just kind of magnifies this. It's definitely not useless however, as I feel it can be used on a tanky character to be able to tank big boss abilities with self-cast guard skills as long as it can tank the smaller abilities with the keystone's downside while the guard is on CD.

In absence of one shots, let's say you go from 80% to 88% chance to evade, you will take almost half the damage that you would take without the keystone, which should be a net positive when adding the 20% more damage taken

how about scaling it with Kintsugi? is it worth it?

Kintsugi can definitely work with it, but the less damage taken modifier is not restricted to attacks so unless you are using spell dodge it's rarely going to be useful(in maps). I think it can be great for the example use case I spoke about in the video(bossing) where you use the less damage taken to tank big hits. The increased evasion rating if you've been hit recently is nice in helping you reach the amount of evasion you need, and it has decent base evasion too.

I was playing around with kintsugi this league I think with high dodge and/or block it could be good, but wind dancer is good.

Wind dancer + ghost shrouds is a little bit like having an aegis with glancing blows. It may not be as much recovery or less damage taken as aegis, but you won't be hit as much and will have access to spell suppression. I think it will be something to consider.

The only rough part of that is you can’t put a timeless jewel in either of those right hand tree sockets.

I'd generally say no, and you'd be better off dropping some evasion scaling to take it so that you can invest your resources elsewhere.

Its also good to combine it with kintsugi and tailwind less damage on deadeye.Played it on crucible league and i can tank shaper slam with 0 armor

More chance to evade chance from the Watcher Eye mod... and also from clicking vaal grace... and also from Raider ascendancy. Those to me all work like additional physical damage reduction. If your armor would prevent 70% of a hit damage, the additional occur after your armor. So if you have 4 endurance charges, you're at 82%. Now if you have Soul of Tukohama active at max efficiency, you are at 90%. When you see people on HC chase 8% phys damage reduction on their body and shield, it's all part of this calculation. Getting the tens of thousands extra armor to mitigate big hits is hard, but having your pantheon, your endurance charges and your gear add % on top makes it all easier. The main problem these days with vaal grace is you'll often have to choose between using a 21/20 alt quality grace... or use a level 20 vaal grace. Level 21 vaal grace have to be made in the temple, they're expensive to generate. People will charge you over 15 divs if you want one they've made. Also, it often compete with vaal molten shell, vaal discipline or perhaps your vaal active skill for soul use. But it's also great to cap out your evade chance. People these days make a huge deal about damage shifting... but it is very strong to make a build that have both enough armor to hit 90% phys damage reduction on almost everything and evade near 95% of the time. Damage shifting is built around super edge cases like being able to face tank stuff you can just not get hit by. People calculate how much they can tank by the most extreme hit damage in the game. Armor, evasion, molten shell, those all still work great to mitigate everything that isn't meant to be dodged like Maven brain bomb. It's strange how some uniques go through trends. Back in 2016 or so, it seem Lightning Coil was meta. Then for many many years, lightning coil was a 1 alc unique nobody would ever put on. Now, it's back, steelmage used it, showed he could tank everything. It's cool, it works, but don't go on thinking a champ with fortify and 100k armor and evasion with some block isn't doing great.

I don't think the Lightning Coil trend is strange at all though. it's being used now because it was massively buffed 2 leagues ago. If that change didn't happen then it would be used far far less. I agree with your point about damage shifting vs other defenses though, but a lot of players follow build guides so the 'trending' defenses or offenses are often the ones being run by big content creators and streamers.

@@dreamcore_gg Oh I agree too. In a way, many of us figure at some points they'll nerf defenses somehow. They make us so close to immortal that almost nothing can kill you once you invest fully into mitigating everything.

If GGG lowered the downside on it, it would be useable to me, but until then it's a noob trap. You will overinvest in evasion to offset monster affixes, map modifiers, monster curses, blind, etc that lower your evasion and you end up not getting much out of the % more evasion. At that point you're weighing the chance of getting hit infrequently upside vs downside and it's a very very scary downside. I think it's good for someone just getting to endgame that is doing content without much packsize or without modifiers in maps that give monsters too much damage. If you are a person who wants to juice up your map with +50% packsize/delirium and don't really care about the map modifiers unless it bricks your build, suddenly you're going to be hating that downside a lot more and wish you had just spec'd out of it.

I think thinking that wind dancer is a noob trap, is a noob trap. Jungroan is using it a lot of his builds on that side of the tree now, especially on league start.

I was thinking, reducing the enemies accuracy to 0, sounds like a bigger upside than wind dancer. Sure it is far more difficult to do so, it sure as hell is doable, but I do think your minimum chance to hit is 5% if I am not mistaken
