Regarding the comment at 16:40, there are several universities working in offshore wind. University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Texas Tech, and Cal Poly Humboldt all have strong, longstanding programs. I know because we've hired their grads (I work at the consulting company DNV).

ref: 8:52 Norway are now to a high degree connected around the world with our oil production and the equity fond "The Government Pension Fund Global" or "Oil found" that have ensured that there is a major return for the norwegian population. Long before that, when hydro power was developet, mostly from 1900-1985 the where buit in a splitt that gave the county a part, and a resource use tax for the federal part and a 70 year lease for the rights. Then everything revert back to the state. This model make sure that also those that are not directly connected see befits from the development.

It is interesting to hear a discussion on wind energy. It would appear as if the nation's/continents will have to depend on some form of (renewables) in the future, near and far. Lifestyles have to change to accommodate the unreliability of energy, wind/solar. Industry will have to undergo an acceptance of intermittent power and power cuts. Some can not survive such intermittence. Nuclear/natural gas will be a must in electricity generation wherever it is available. One factor not adequately discussed is COST. COST COST. Energy for domestic and industry will never be cheap again. Travel will have to be curtailed. Lifestyles will have to change,. Is there a need or a want? The freedom to up and go at will has to change. Commodity scarcely will likely have to be accepted as it was in mid to late last century. Again COST, and UNRELIABILITY are the future ,short ,and maybe longterm

Love to follow the channel. Very informative. When are you going to talk about recyclable blades?

Thanks for watching! Check our past videos - we had a great interview with blade recycler Veolia. We also discussed the Siemens Gamesa recyclable blades and the NREL thermoplastic recyclable resin blades in previous episodes. Rosemary and Allen are big proponents of the new tech on recyclable resins - including the Michigan State system that can be made into gummy bears!
