Just wondering can you help, I am looking for information on how to go change the windy boy 2500 grid tied to off grid? And would it be possible to work with a 12 volt system. Any info would be appreciated

what equipment are you using to go from the three wires on turbine to the grid? I have been thinking about this as well. is there a diversion for the turbine power to go to if the grid goes down? john

Ok three wires from wind turbine (axial flux) goes to the protection box and into the inverter and into the grid. I have a separate generator from MW that powers the battery back up. if ether one goes then one will remain. Evenif one generator fails we have power. Plus and your like this it gives me double braking in storms.

I was looking for sma windy boy protection box but man are they expensive, I bought the windy boy new for 300 im keeping my eye out for a cheap protection box here in AU

Yes there not cheap . I think if I had bought direct from the UK was looking at 1200 sterling for the protection box and the same again for the inverter. plus shipping
