I am currently working on a wind farm wake optimization project for my graduate energy course and found the graphics in this presentation really helpful! Is it possible to download the images from the presentation? I am an energy policy major so I am having a hard time with some of the calculations and I think the visuals would really help.

Excelent explanation! Some authors, like as Masters (Renewable and Efficient Electric Power System, 2nd ed), suggests other distances. Between towers on same row: 5 diameters. For downstream towers: 10 diameters.

@@nosojdjos Jensen wake model. it's a straightforward wake model which you can code in Matlab. the farm net power output will be the objective function for single objective optimization.

@@nosojdjos honestly I didn't validate the results since it was just a class project. the model is not prescise enough and ignores lots of variables. but its easy to combine it with genetic algorithm. computational fluid dynamics yields the most accurate results but it's much more complex.

Would having adjacent turbines rotating in opposite direction reduce the effect of cross talk. Also having following turbine rotating in opposite direction and closer to the front row could recover energy lost into vorticity by the front row turbines.
