I watch a lot of sailing and boat building vids. I like your channel particularly because of your honesty and the visible joy you have sailing and visiting remote parts of the world. What I really like is the way you introduce us the local people you come across in your travels. Other boat traveling channels often don't even show or talk about the people they must deal with on their way,, or people they hire to help work on their boats...you do....because you really enjoy them, because it's fun meeting the families, eating their food...or weird food on the street. You make it fun and infinitely more interesting for me as a video watcher

Really good video on how to check in trouble free... I am sure you being so well prepared was the key. And of course, you two are quite charming... That was a quick trip...

I was in Indonesia earlier this year. I didn't come by boat for that trip. The process was relatively easy at the airport. I was amazed by the people and the peace of the country. Jakarta traffic is insane, quiet, and calm. It can be very congested and stopped at times. I heard no horns and saw no angry gestures or anger in the people. All religions live in peace together even though it is the highest Muslim population in the world. Maybe the presence of the sea brings peace to the people. I will return.

This is really amazing. So thorough and useful. I've been on boats that have cleared in and out. So this info is really really helpful. My takeaway is, even if I might never sail into Indonesia, it's good to have multiple copies of all these documents.

Hey Holly I was just wondering if there was any vids of your trip from Townsville to Darwin, a huge chunk of some of the best Australia has to offer, or is it coming up and I have jumped the gun hopefully, thanks to you and the team for Geckos 🦎 adventures

If you can, talk to Yosh and Bonita from Sailing Nandji - Frothlyfe, they spent a year or two in Indonesia, and checked in and out a few times. They may have good information, they even spent 2020 there and their daughter was born there. Love your interaction with the locals, makes it more interesting.

I’m totally worn out just watching what you had to go through. I won’t be sailing there anytime soon or any location for that matter. I’ve had three sailboats here in Hawaii. Last boat I owned. I had to buy $1 million insurance policy just park in the harbor. and they test you to see how well you can motor in and out of the harbor I was motoring out to do my Marker run and I rescued another boat off the rocks when I got back to the Masters office they said I passed with flying colors I drop them off at their slip and motored back to mine thank you so much for your show. You’re doing things that I couldn’t even think about doing. I guess I live vicariously through KZbin now that I’m in my senior years. I haven’t left the Hawaiian islands since 1987

They were friendly and helpful because you sail in over the horizon like the smiling baby Teletubbies sun, and shine happy Holly love on them. If you had sauntered in on a big catamaran full of haughty English speaking entitlement and impatience they would have been grumpier and a LOT slower (and quite bloody right too!)

Delos used to print t0 copies of a bunch of things. They had become very good by the time they made it to India. Its good to look back at the check in ect stuff that they talk about years ago, (I think those videos are still there ?). HOPEFULLY THOSE BIG GUYS CAN SEE YOU AT NIGHT ! Singapore in Malaysia was an incredible experience for Delos ! The bigger cities have all the huge ships and at night they are looking at each other, the ships have bright lights and may not see you unless yours are bright ! There will be too much going on for them to work with AIS, they need to see you ! That Passport Stamp is the most important stamp of all. Right ? The harbor master surprised me, what is he going to do with that paperwork ? Imagine all the cabinets all those people have for all of that. This is the first Check in and out video I'm putting in my new Sailing Check In and Out Playlist. Yes, lots of sailing playlists at my channel ! I cover everything !

I'll contest the idea that it's easy. I guess the initial process is, but having to stamp out your entire trip at each harbor seems needlessly complicated and restrictive. Same for having to tell them the last harbor… are they following everyone to make sure people don't leave the country ? That sounds like a very unenforceable requirement. This isn't the only country in which checking in/checking out and just the general administration for boating is a little bit ridiculous…
