Winding a Bobbin on a Bernina 707

I've been fighting the bobbin winder on my 700 for a year and this video showed me I could disengage the wheel! I had no idea!

Good morning, I found a really good video from this gentleman showing you how to replace your bobbin winder. Bear in mind you may not need to replace the whole mechanism so check that the rubber ring is not worn first of all and secondly also make sure that oil hasn’t been applied in this area or it will also not work because the oil will cause the ring to just slip while you’re trying to wind your bobbin. How do you change the light bulb?

Hello Jocelyn, open the side panel which is above the presser foot. The bulb is in the 'door'. It comes out by pushing upwards and at the same time turning it anti-clockwise (or left). It uses a bayonet fitting on this model. I will see if I can post a picture on the main thread. All the best. Michele

Hello. I am afraid I can’t tell whether this is good or not as it depends on the local market in your country. I suggest you watch a few of these on eBay and see what they sell for and then make a decision. They are wonderful machines if they are in working condition. Good luck.
