Having driven many of these, they aren't as bad as people say they are. The Rogue is great for just daily driving around town etc. Sure CVTs aren't great, but they aren't terrible unless your flooring it from every light. We own a 2010 Rogue SL with 200,000 miles and the CVT still works fine.

Rented this car for 10 days. The steering is incredibly light and loose, not what I was used to. I do however like the fact it consistently stayed under 3,000 RPM. Engine wasn’t as noisy as in this video, and worked just fine! Definitely not a vehicle I’d buy, but not as horrible as it looks.

I went from American made vehicles from 93 Ford Explorer, 99 Jimmy, 03 S-10, 08 Town & Country to a 2015 SV AWD & absolutely love it. I change the CVT fluid every 40,000, I'm 6'5 & 380lbs and fit perfectly inside, and have ample room in the back seat for passengers without moving my seat. It is great in the snow and rain. The windshield is huge and can see so much! I average 24-36mpg. I really love the Rogue and has been a great vehicle thus far in the Metro Detroit traffic & weather! Great video. I'm gonna get another one.

Luis Santana why the hate? Cvts aint that bad we have an altima with over 190k, a rogue with 160k we always serviced the transmission every 25k miles drain and fill so easily, my 98 maxima has over 370k miles original engine and transmission. Last time we had a toyota was a tacoma, something in the steering broke and my girlfriends father crashed head on into another truck. As long as you take care of it, it will last. I just got a 2019 sentra and it gets like 51 mpg on the highway and is my perfect economy car.

JDM FR3AK fair enough. But I will say your 98 maxima is a conventional automatic. A 4spd I believe. I had a 97. Great great cars. It looks nice in and out but even from a video you can tell how annoying and non-linear that transmission is. It’s not reliable either? Dealbreaker.

This car would be the perfect SUV if it had a standard automatic transmission. Continuously variable transmissions do not sound or feel natural at all.

Such a buzzy and underpowered engine along with a CVT. Horrible resale value too. SL interior looks nice but people don't buy this trim.

Nissan- Looks really promising and fools with you initial quality and latest gimmicky features...will need a brand new transmission replacement at 65k. Don't believe me? The rogues are notorious for this premature failure.

Richard Nguyen Mine has 84K miles and he never had a hint of a CVT problem. My advice is that it’s not a race car, don’t try to drive it like one and you will be fine.

Chandler White well you shouldn’t assume how i drive because its a versa, 109 hp tops is not racecar territory and I certainly know that haha. Lucky him but my family and I have had nothing but bad experiences with nissan.
