Oh man...another New Orleans native here...I was a little kid when this and Groove City would put me to sleep along with other classics played by Poppa Smurf. Finding this song has made my day. Straight up classic. This is like finding a long lost friend.

Now look at the similarities, I'm from New Orleans and back home visiting for a Janet concert and hear this song again which is a New Orleans group and was managed by Joe Jackson. Mr. Kevin McLin and Windjammer did it nice and smooth with this classic original New Orleans groove. Kevin McLin also served as Asst. Department Chair of Communications and actually taught Music Studio Production at Dillard University, New Orleans during the 80's when I attended and graduated from Dillard University. It was always cool to kick it with him and learn the music industry game and also hear those "Five Heartbeats" type stories LOL 504-Windjamner-4eva

During 1977, Kevin McLin broke into a hotel and gave Tito Jackson, of The Jacksons, a Windjammer demo tape while riding an escalator. Two years later Jacksons' father and manager Joe Jackson signed them to his management company. A debut single 'Stay' sold well around New Orleans before the group were signed by MCA in 1982. In 1983, their first album 'Windjammer' was released.

Reminds me of my days in the early 80's. Running wild in the clubs all over New Orleans. Across that canal at Mor's, The Sand Pit, The Rendezvous! and The Togetherness Lounge where they would be fights every week. Than hanging out on Claiborne at clubs like The Bottom Line, Spades, they had seats like swings at the bar, that was really cool in those days. Crystals across the street and The Basin Street Lounge, they never close, so that was our after hour spot. Then I made it to the east where Chicago's was my spot. Didn't really like Whispers but they were always crowded. Then Adeauxs came along and that was my spot until the 90's hit. I was a dancing machine in those days. So much fun.

In 1984, 'Windjammer II' featured 'Tossing And Turning', a UK Top 20 hit. The song was remixed and re-released by Debut Records in 1989. In 1985, a final album for MCA was released, entitled (you've guessed it!), 'Windjammer III'. The group have adopted a low profile since that release.
