Man, you guys don't have any of that zip board left over to lay down for Gary to stand on? Much more stable than just laying 2x8's down. Just a couple nails on each side to stabilize the plywood is all you need for a temp floor.

If it’s a sliding glass door. You can take the operating door out to install. If your not sure how to take the operating door out . You put it in the middle of frame and lift up. Do the same to put back in. It would of been a lot easier, I used to make them patio doors.

Gary. You don’t need to caulk all the edges of the windows or around nailing doors. All you have to do is caulk around outside perimeter of window on outside of wall. but not the bottom so any water 💦 can escape out the bottom. Then press windows against wall and nail only with big headed nails. Then tape all around nailing flanges. Done 😊👍🏻. Just a tip from Canada 😎

Getting the doors and windows in and insulation in the ceiling will make it great for working in there this winter. Put a ladder where the stairs are going and you will have it made. Kids will enjoy having their own space.

If I were yall I would scratch the dirt up and plant some grass seed in front of ur house before winter and if it comes up in the spring fertilize it...Oh and if u want trees that provide quick shade in ur front yard plant some Bradford pear trees they have no pears just a fast growing tree and they are beautiful...u have plenty of sun to grow any kind of grass or if u can find thick grass on ur land try digging it up and put several patches down Bermuda spreads fast but Gary would know what kind to start but u could line ur front yard with the Bradford pear trees and another fast grower go in ur woods and no now is the time dig up small maple trees and replant them around ur yard they are fast growers and they are free 😊

I know what you are going through, I use to install doors, windows and storm doors. It is a tough job to stand on the ground, but even tougher on a second level house on ladders or scaffolding. Looks great. PS: I sent you and email.

Just an idea , put the caulking on th door or window frame , than put them in , I built over 60 homes and I love your oevrdoing things Gary , love ya to Mel , but its much easier and I would be glad to come from Minnesota and give you a hand with some tihngs as I am a master carpenter , electrician , plumber and painter !

Progress 😁👍🏼 Guys I’d suggest to cover that roof zip board in Grace ice and water shield underlayment membrane. At least that will 100% water proof that zip board the roof until you can get the roofing on it. If not Grace I’d find a membrane that does the same thing. 😉👍🏼

I loaded the dish washer and pulled the Christmas decorations up from under the house. Meanwhile these two amazing people are installing doors and windows on a house. I look forward to each episode.
