Jennifer, last night I made a bunch of flowers by die cutting first and the. Stamping so they would line up. I was trying to remember who taught me this. I should’ve known it was you💖 Thank you so much for all the time you take...allowing us these teachable moments.

For once my insomnia is working for me in that this Stamp set is still available. Too bad Lawn Fawn isn’t my bag. Such darling images but I never end up using cute images more than once. I like the idea of a smaller window on the front of a card opening up to the larger scene inside the card. Glad to learn the technique. Might make for cool Christmas cards with little ornament openings on the front and a bigger Christmas scene inside the card.

@bunnylands9163 жыл бұрын
Same here! If you're ever interested in making some dimensional cards that are larger than A2 size and still fold flat, you might want to check out some of Sam Calcott's KZbin videos. She has a variety of dimensional cards that fold flat. I watched a video of hers the other day that has a basic structural design that looked fairly simple, and I could see using it for a variety of cards. (I got some good ideas by reading through the comments.) Here's the video link, if you want to check it out: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmbWe3WHfLimeK8

I don't make many A2-sized cards, so once I follow along with Jennifer's video a few times I'm going to see if I can create some window shadowbox cards that are a bit larger. I think if I start with two pieces that are the same size, score one piece at its center and the other at 1/2 inch, at its center, and at 1/2 inch past its center, then as long as I follow all the other directions in the video I should be OK. (For example, with cardstock pieces cut to10 inches by 7 inches, I'd score one piece at 5 inches and the other piece at 1/2 inch, 5 inches and 5-1/2 inches.) Worst case, I'll end up wasting a couple of pieces of cardstock, but if "upsizing" works I could incorporate somewhat larger die-cut/fussy-cut elements in the card window and the shadowbox - or maybe try cutting two windows in the card, each framing a different part of the shadowbox - I could see a shadowbox with flowers, and butterflies above them, so one window could use a butterfly as its focal point and another window could use a flower. Lots of other possibilities are running through my mind now - thank you, Jennifer, for sharing your creativity; you always inspire me to expand my cardmaking skills!
