This is the method I use to install window tint to most back windows of cars. There are others methods but this one has help me for the most. P.S. This video was inspired from a request from "hawkeyesaob"

You just answered the question I’ve been asking for a long time now ! And you didn’t even directly verbally answer. Thanks for the knowledge!

This video was made by a request as mentioned in the description for one and whether someone wants to learn or not from this video is up to them. I’m guessing you don’t tint windows as often as I do and this is meant for people that do or just want to see one way a window tinting tints back windows. Sorry I wasted 10 minutes of your time but thanks for watching the whole video.

i allways use this method. i think is the best. like this i keep the film allways clean and i am sure it does not catch any dirt during the installation. thanks for sharing this with us, i have seen this video like one year ago and sins then i am tinting the rear widows like this. awsome !

im new to tinting and still learning .the hardest thing i have problems with is getting in the car with the film. im only 5' 2" with short arms so its kind of difficult. today i played with some film on my cutting board trying this roll method and before long i figured out if you roll the liner back in as you roll the tint out it ends up on the opposite side. next back window i do i will try this. i believe you may have helped me. i greatly appreciate it.

I have tried this after seeing you and I like doing this compared to just putting it in in one big piece.

I understand and can appreciate the tip of rolling the tint to make applying it easier to the rear window, where you're losing me is it appears as if the glue side of the tint is facing inside the car rather than against the window or am I seeing it incorrectly? After rolling out the tint onto the wet window (inside) it appears as if the liner is facing inward, no??? TIA!

Yes I use the gloves just to keep my hands dry and clean. Not necessary but I like to wear them all the time.

are you not putting the glued side of the tint towards the inside of the car?

What I don’t get about reverse roll it’s that it seems the part that has the glue ends up backwards, it doesn’t make sense cuz the liner is supposed to be protecting the film/glue side right, isn’t that a problem or you just applied some sort of adhesive to the propositivo side so it’s glued to the window?

This is a pretty awesome method bro, ignore the dumb ass mofo's that are posting crap and keep up the good work with instruction videos for us people that are smart enough to follow them.

Its hard to explain but if you have two pieces of different color paper on the table red on the bottom and white on the top and roll them up together the bottom (red) will be the only piece you will see. Then when you unroll the red separate from the white and let the white follow behind it will on the opposite side when your done. Hope I did not confuse you more?

Thanks for taking the time to make this video and actually explaining what you are doing and why. I have seen some other videos of reverse rolling and they did not explain the process. Also the small tint on your cutting glass helped illustrate this technique. I now understand how this works and no one explained about the release film and getting slack out of it.

i own my own window tinting business and would like to try what your doing here as apposed to the "frankenstein" method i currently use. What does not make since about your video is how once you unroll the film on the inside of the back window is the liner facing you instead of facing the sky like it was when you wetted it on the outside. when you roll the film up the liner is rolled to the inside but when you unroll it on the inside of the car the liner is then on the outside. It does not make since what are we missing about the roll up process? Thank you
@WilltheWang10 жыл бұрын
Take 2 pieces of paper, roll them up. When you unroll them you peel the inside off and roll it behind the outside one and continue to unroll the rest, the inside will be rolled completely to the back. Not sure if this is understandable but using 2 pieces of paper really helps clarify

Yeah, that's what I saw? Liner on top when the film was on outside of glass ("glue up"), then it was rolled up from bottom right to upper left (tint on outside of roll and liner wrapped inside, so "glue inside"). Then inside glass, he unrolls it tint side down, so "glue up" like it has to be (unrolling way from glass instead of toward it). So the liner should be against the glass, as expected. But, @ 5:35 he peels off liner and it's on the bottom, away from the glass?! Magic? Please explain.

the liner is on the wrong side when you unroll it. why? does not make sense to me.
@lohengrinknight3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I'm confused. When you install the paper, the liner is facing you and not the glass, which is the opposite of what happens on the door windows. How does this happen? What about the adhesive that keeps the paper glued to the glass?

This doesn't seem right to me. In the first example he rolls from his right to left and then unrolls again from his right to left. That's all fine and good as long as the adhesive side is facing the glass, but as he's finishing up he proceeds to peel the liner off from the side facing the interior of the car. That would only work if the adhesive was exposed (not facing the glass) when he initially rolled it up. ???? It ain't right I tell ya! For anyone that is diy chances are you have a pre-cut/etched tint. If that's the case, and you're following this method, make sure the tint has the etched side facing down against the outside rear window (make note of which side was etched after trimming on a separate piece of glass). Then while unrolling you'll have to keep peeling the liner from behind (facing the glass) as you're moving along.
