I did the same thing to my integra, I scuffed the metal, and painted over it and it flaked in a couple weeks :( I sanded it back off, and applied a good primer then painted it again and a year later it's perfect! Good stuff man I need a windshield too :/

That's the worst, I've had that happen before too! This method has worked perfect on my Si, my LX and now the wagon... hopefully! Lol

what a difference!! i needed to redo the rear bumper. i used krylon bumper paint and it didnt come out well. I recommend VHT trim paint!!! works fantastic

Did you use the VHT on your bumpers after the Krylon didn't work well?

Jon Widmer no i ended up doing the front bumper instead.sanded it then cleand with alcohal then sprayed it and it came out even!! i havent done the rear bumper yet

Ok cool, a friend suggested cleaning my bumpers and using wd40 to get them back to black. I'm going to see how this works next time he swings by.

Yuck, plastidip is cool for short term projects. Leave it on too long also and it's such a terror to remove.

Any recommendations for other plastic trim pieces, like door handles, door moldings, skirts, etc? Was looking at this stuff called Forever Black, which is marketed as a "plastic dye." All other options appear to be sold as plastic "conditioners" or paint.

Jason Waid A lot of the "back to black" products usually are really similar and work pretty well. One of my good friends likes to use WD-40 on DX black bumpers and molding and it works well if you let it soak then clean it up. It's a little messy which is why I don't really like it. I prefer Armor All products.

What kind of sand paper did you use.

It was a 600 grit just to roughen the plastic so the paint would stick better.

I just used some extra sandpaper I had laying around. You will want something that is sort of rough to get the plastic scuffed up.

Jeff Falstrom All the cowl needs is some armor all/back to black since it's all plastic. Painting it would eventually start to get rock chips and look ugly. Ask me how I know. lol

That's good to hear, I try to make it as easy as possible! Hopefully no later than the end of January. November and December are super busy for me at work so not a lot of time unfortunately. But I will have it done eventually!
