Windows 10 boot time on M.2 Drives & GAMING PC PARTS - Dec 2017

Nice video... thinking about putting an m.2 drive in my rig and just running windows off it. I am currently using a 850 evo. Here is what I am thinking... Buy an M.2 drive and only install windows 10 on it, then use the 850 Evo for installations and such for the os. Is that something that would be ideal?

Take a look at the 300 chipset series systems. The Core i5 CPUs for those are 6 core. DDR4 Ram. I went with a MSI board this time that has only one M.2 slot. But the BPX 240GB M.2 drive in this video went up in price this year. From $114.99 last year to $129.99 shipped. The Western Digital Black Series PCIe X4 drives are $119.99 for the 250GB 3D Nand. You can do that, if you have 2 slots for M.2 drives. There are PCIe X2-4 and the X16 video slot can be used to adapt the M.2 drives. NewEgg has the adapters.

why do i have to have 2 m.2 slots? Dont I just need the one, and a sata drive to migrate the os to the m.2 drive?

I was just thinking if you wanted to run the OS on one, & the programs on another one. I think....lol.
