@@user-ly8kd6mf7rIt is subjective but Windows was my favorite OS too until Microsoft made everything basically into an advertisement for your PC, with macOS you have peace of mind without being bombed by Copilot the next time you boot your computer.

I have both Mac Mini and Windows Desktop. MacOS and Windows 11 just feels very similar (if not the same) to each other nowadays, the only difference is their looks but again their looks are already so similar to each other too so IDK. There's no point in comparing them in 2024 unlike before between MacOS Snow Leopard and Windows Vista there were MASSIVE differences! Unless Microsoft or Apple does a OS overhaul but I don't see them doing it anymore. Both are so interested in AI that desktop OS is no longer their top priority.

I've got both Windows and macOS systems, and while I use macOS primarily for work (coding and music production), I rely on Windows for gaming and streaming. There's a stark contrast between the two when it comes to updates and stability. Windows forces updates, which can be super disruptive, especially when they cause issues or bootloops. Plus, there's all the bloatware and telemetry that makes you feel like you don’t have full control over your own device. On the other hand, macOS lets you choose when to update, which helps avoid the chaos of surprise updates and gives a much smoother experience overall. For me, macOS wins hands down for work-related tasks because it’s stable and respects my choices. Windows is great for gaming, but the forced updates are a huge downside. Anyone else feel the same way?

@@JesseJones-nv3vd I'm talking about edge. It did feel quite bloated with all the extra features and built-in tools when I first used it, but its performance to memory footprint ratio is somehow better than most other chromium browsers like chrome and opera

@@firestormjupiterIt seems better, I will agree…maybe it’s because of IE Mode having EdgeHTML (used to be MSHTML)? I don’t really like the Sidebar or the spyware though. Opera is actually a decent browser, but Brave is much more better. I went on EFF’s Cover Your Tracks, and it said that DuckDuckGo, Safari and Brave were the most secure browsers (besides Tor of course). Edge, Chrome, and EVEN Firefox were not that secure.

@@firestormjupiterI guess that Edge uses less resources on the Task Manager. Chrome also has that as well, that is one great thing about Chromium based browsers. I ran Firefox (based on Quantum and Gecko) on Windows, looked at the Task Manager, and saw that Firefox uses more resources.

Both OS finally decided to go back to transparency and blur. Finally some aesthetics. I hope they will be updated soon with glass effects and a more aesthetic interface similar to Aero Glass.

As long as they keep the Windows button centered without option to place it to the left by the user, i'll pass.......... Windows 10 are already great and work quite well, why get myself in trouble with stupidities that teens in microsoft make now? The ideal for me would be an OS with the visual of XP or 7 and the behavior and pros of WIndows 10, along with useful and lost option back from Win 95 even.

Have both, mac sucks, much worse UX than Windows and Ubutntu(did not try other distributions, but the result should be the same). While Apple wins laptop non-gaming battle, on desktop side it can't compete with windows.
