I agree, but to be honest, Win8 UI is weird, the start screen looks too forced and not natural. But Win8.1 fix it, start screen looks more natural and good looking.

Imma be honest, the only things I don't like about Windows 8 RTM is that they replaced the aero theme with the Windows 8 style basic theme, and replaced the classic design, that was also used for the high contrast themes, with the aero lite design. And also how you open the charms bar on desktop.

Windows 8 and 8.1 are both beautifully built masterpieces that were also very optimized in terms of performance, but sadly they received a lot of hate due to their design.

for me Dev preview is better. 8056 and 7989 are also good. In DP, you can re-enable Windows 7 style Aero by disabling Redpill. Wish they kept the Windows 7 theme in control panel to choose like Longhorn builds kept XP theme.

And in 8102 you can unredpill this to make it feel like Windows 7 again - it wasn't until around Build 8128 (shortly after the Developer Preview release) where all the Metro features were available out of the box. Speaking of which, there's been a lot of Windows 8 leaks recently with builds not seen before ever since they were compiled, some of them internally.
