Vista was my favorite. I had a Dell Inspiron with Vista SP2, and I loved the hell out of that machine until it scorched. Shoutout to Microsoft for the Zune music manager too. The hardest decision of my life was having to uninstall Zune because Microsoft finally pulled the killswitch and it wouldn't even execute.

95, 98 and ME and NT4 are all part of the Windows 4 family. They're so similar one is enough. Same with the Windows 3 family. NT5 is the same as 2000 and not only look like 4, XP is a better representation of the Windows 5 family. Finally, betas do not count.

I have a Windows 7. But the screen wont come on :( although theres this this that makes the screen come on and its called a bios battery. Apparently the batteries after like 7 years they just go big dead I hope the new battery works and makes the screen come on

I've been using Windows since Windows 98 and it's incredible to see how the OS has grown over the years. My favorite is Windows XP for nostalgic reasons, it was such a refereshing change and the upgrade really felt like a new age. My work is centred around Linux and the terminal, but I do love the convenience and ease of Windows. Regular day to day life and gaming works perfect on Windows. Linux Mint is the closest there is to a stable desktop OS for Linux in my experience (tried a lot!). Never used Vista or 8 (thankfully) and the transition to Windows 7 and finally 10 has been somewhat graceful. Windows 10 continues to be stable enough for now and is utilitarian and good.

If your motherboard didn’t come with a speaker, they’re really cheap. Just get one and plug it into the speaker headers and the beautiful beep is back!
