Everyone’s talking about the smooth transition between games, but is anyone else appreciating the smooth transition between aspect ratios? They’re so well hidden, it was hard to spot even while looking for them. Most notably at 0:12 and 2:15. They’re both hidden by passing through thresholds.

@@qartheros Seems like it was pretty rare. John Carmack was a pretty brilliant mind and kind of instantiated the genre, plus it was all premised on being able to "aim" in a 3D environment, which requires good hardware acceleration and smooth transitions. Best you could do was something like Duck Hunt. Imagine Might & Magic-style frames as you explore dungeons in a 3D environment but trying to aim. Change it to 25 degree angles for each frame I guess as you press on the WASD-Pad? 😁
