Hi, these tutorials are great. It's good to see some more info being spread about this quite badly documented API. Also, MB_OK is exactly the same as NULL. It's just 0. So you could rly make the last parameter NULL and it defaults to the OK button.

What C++ IDE environment are you using? I am using Dev C++ which I like but I don't seem to get all the pop ups that you get when you are typing in some of the reserved keywords. I think that would be helpful at times...thanks

When you start off as a beginner, Dev C++ is the best option because it is simple to get used to. But once you start working with APIs and creating projects, these become difficult to manage with something as simple as Dev. So it is the time you switch to a more professional IDE. Microsoft's Visual Studio Community is a great option, but its very bulky ( ~ 12 GBs) and requires a high end PC. If you want something that is lighter than that use Code Blocks ( this is the one i'm using in the video ). You can download it from sourceforge.net/projects/codeblocks/files/Binaries/17.12/Windows/codeblocks-17.12mingw-setup.exe/download

@Ratul - a nice and usefull video :-) the messageboxes are easy, but I have a problem with your mainmenu. in your videos the [File]-Menu opens within the mainwindow, the content of my menu is displayed half on the desktop and half in the mainwindow. have you any idea, why? have a nice day! :-)

I checked your mail. You're right, its just a feature of windows 10 that is different from older versions of windows. You dont need to worry about it. :-)

Looks like there is no simple way to change the text of the button (for example, change them to a different language). I guess I have to make a new window myself. Edit: It seems the language is automatically changed to match the OS. My Message Box showed German buttons.

that is some complicated business since win32 API is very low level. I'm not even sure if i'm gonna make a tutorial on that. If you need a reference , you can try searching on msdn. Or perhaps you can try asking questions on a public forum ( stack overflow ? ). Thats all i can tell you for now.
