Well, just to let you know about my experience. It was kinda a rough ride around town with all the pot holes. On the highway it was great. But since I ride in town alot it was irritating. So I ended up installing a set of DK Custom Nex gen 13” Triglide shocks for the rear. $1000. But the ride is 100 time better. The difference between night and day. I was seriously considering selling the bike. But after I installed the shocks, it is so nice now. I just thought I would throw that in at you.

You sir I feel are the epitome of a man that has the attention to detail through and through you. There doesn't seem to be anything that you haven't thought of in regards to making your ride as comfortable and efficient as is possible. Right down to using some glue on some straps so that they don't flap around in the wind and put some microscopic scratches on your bikes paint. Some people might think that is being a bit anal but I'm not that some people and I'm impressed with your acute attention to detail. If I were to guess I would say that this very likely extends to other areas of your life. I'm an older fellow that has never owned a motorcycle or trike but have always been fascinated but guys like you that take something they like to do and then do it the right way. I don't have many regrets in life but one I do have is that I wish I would have saw the beautiful freedom of hitting the open road on something like what you have shown me here in your video. I grew up in northeast British Columbia where not a lot of people are into motorcycles and everything that come with owning one. I think it was probably because of the short summer season we had as well as the fact that I had so many other things on the go that my leisure time was taken up with other interests. Now as a 66 year old semi-retired guy with more time on my hands it might sound a bit crazy to some people but I am entertaining the idea of buying either a motorcycle or something with 3 wheels to get out a see a bit more of the beautiful country of Canada. Your video has served as an inspiration that it can be done reasonably comfortably if one is willing to spend the money to do it as I'm sure your beautiful toy is not something that has come cheaply to you. I probably won't go to the extent that you have in equipping your trike but a little at a time I should be able to have something that will give me a lot of enjoyment as I explore places and things that have been put on hold for too long. I decided that you seem to be the type of guy that I can learn from as I get into this new adventure so I have subscribed to your channel with the hope of soon being out and about on a toy of my own. Thank you for your well thought out and very informative video as I look forward to seeing more of them. I noticed that you had a Washington state licence plate and I live in Vancouver BC so we are practically neighbours and will quite likely be down your way in the not to distant future as I have a sister that lives in your beautiful state. Take care and thanks again. 🏍☮✌

Is it the Sykik brand system? Battery could be dead in the sensors or sensor. (not likely, but I would check the batteries) Do you get any reading at all? Did you install everything and then take the bike for a ride because It needs to roll a little bit down the road before everything begins to work properly. Is the main unit charged up? If the main unit is charging, you’re not getting a reading, most likely the batteries in the TPMS valve cap sensors are dead. Which is unlikely because each brand new. Anyway, check all batteries make sure they are working and if they are then you probably have a bad head unit. .

What does the spacer on the rear of the gas tank do to the fitment of your seat? Is their a gap formed as a result of the height increase?
@windsurfed12 жыл бұрын
Aw, good observation, and good question. The tank rises up and meets the very tip (1 1/2 inches) of the seat. It rubs pretty good against the tank. I put some thin self adhesive felt down on the tank where the tank meets the seat. I am very pleased with that application. I did that so it would not wear my paint off. The seat goes on and off normally. No issues whatsoever. The very tip of the seat falls short of the center console.

Thanks for the video. What specifically didn't work for you on the Sena Freewire. I was looking into purchasing one to use on my '21 Tri Glide.
@windsurfed13 жыл бұрын
It’s been awhile since I’ve thought about it. There was for me conflicting static noise if I remember correctly, between the intercom and other Sena riders. I also had trouble with the Bluetooth phone connections. I don’t recall exactly what discouraged me but it was mild enough to convince me to go a different route. Or, maybe it was just me not being able to put it all together to make it work right. I spent quite a bit of time trying to perfect it. It seems there are other riders out there that have the Sena freewire that are perfectly happy. So that makes me think that maybe it was all my fault. I am pretty tech savvy but I still couldn’t figure it out.

Question - how do you keep your rims looking so nice. I'm struggling to keep my rear rims clean.
@windsurfed1 Жыл бұрын
They may look nice, but they’re not all that clean. I just took both of them into the local tire store and had them put in steel valve stems. When I got them back, I worked on cleaning them with simple green. Soak them a few times both side scrub them, and they do look nice now. I’ve had motorcycles before where the rims were fantastic for years, but it seems within a year my Harley Davidson rims on the back we’re starting to pit and get stains on them and I could not get them out. So the best I’ve been doing is using mothers, aluminum mag polish sometimes on them, then waxing them.

One good thought though, should have this bike till I die, and will be able to ride it comfortably with all the accessories. How long that will be is anybody’s guess

Why did ya change the name of the bike?

Sometimes I felt the motorcycle was very heavy as a machine and sometimes I felt it was very agile like a road runner.

Hi it's me again lol... So In your first video you got the trunk lid organizer & mentioned that you didn't want the wall organizer cause you wouldn't be able to fit 2 helmets.. But in this video you have the wall organizer so my question is do you have enough room to fit both helmets & if yes how much room do you have left once both helmets are in??
@windsurfed12 жыл бұрын
Good observation. I went ahead and got the wall organizer. And yes it will still fit two full face helmets. But you better not have anything else loose on the floor under the helmet because the lid will not close properly. It is a tight fit. But with one helmet no problem. When both helmets are in you can squeeze little odds and ends between the helmets and into the corners if need be.

@@windsurfed1 awesome thanks 👍🏼😊 did you just tape them in or did you screw them in (holes lined up with luggage rack) to make it more sturdy?

Where did you get the rear spacer for your gas tank. I can find front ones everywhere...

I think I got them at the local ace hardware store. Just took my bolt in and my tape measure and found the one that worked.

Your videos are great. I do have a question- The fender wraps you show look like they wraped around its width not just along it. Which vender did you get these from? Thanks, John
@windsurfed12 жыл бұрын
I just went to a local wrap shop and I told them exactly what I wanted and they put it on it wraps slightly around the corners but not all the way. And from the bottom about a third of the way up the fender. You can buy a kit from Harley Davidson that does the fenders and a couple more areas if you would like.

Yes, I hear you. It could probably use all that stuff. One time I backed up to the curb and just barely scraped my pipes. I learned a big lesson, never to back up to occur again

Link for black console cover please
@windsurfed120 күн бұрын
Bought the black console cover from the HD Dealer. $299.99. P/N 70900501. I just went looking for it but it's not listed on HD web site for parts anymore. That is rather strange. However, if you just type the part number in on a google search it with show up at various dealers which may have them in stock at their dealership. Hope that helps. Might beable to get an aftermarket one off ebay . Same thing just cheaper.

@ glad you could use some of the information. Haven’t made a video on the Triglide for quite some time because I am tapped out and there’s nothing left to do. You can only do so much videoing on a certain subject.

What’s the advantages of a 15’ “touring windshield “ ? …. You’re going to be looking thur it and not over it .
@windsurfed1 Жыл бұрын
Everyone has their own preferences. I did not like the windshield at eye level. (OEM Windshield) I was either lifting my head above it, or ducking below it. The 15 inch "touring windshield" knocks down more wind from reaching you body and totally reduced the buffettiing of my helmet. I'm not bobbing up and down anymore. Much more relaxing for me. However, The reflection then showed up in the 15 inch windshield from the center (chrome) gas tank console, gas cap cover,and push button, and ignition switch. It can be rather annoying. So I ended up spending more $$ on a black center gas tank console, gas gap cover, gas cap push button, and ignition cover, all black in color. Now I'm happy. Looking thur the windshield is (to me anyway) no worse than looking thru your car windshied. No distortions whatsoever.

Just wait for your 1st huge BUG smacking you in the lips, that and less wind in your face or passengers

Coming from a old school Harley rider what you pay for the trike the person should be allowed to tell the shop what accessories you want on it at no extra charge.

I have thought about that. I don’t really know how to do it and I think it would be a little more difficult. Not sure though I’ve seen others who do that and that is great.

what length extension did you get for your ram mount? I have 12 inch bars. Also great video on Dakota gauges.
@windsurfed13 жыл бұрын
Yes I really like the digital gauges and the handlebars The ram mount arm extension is a RAM-B-200-12U. It is a 1 inch composite double socket swivel arm. Cost somewhere between $11-$16. The handle bar U-bolt base for rails .5 to 1.25 inch diameter either black Ram-B-231ZU Or chrome RAM-B-231U about 17-20 dollars

Are you gonna put any LED lights or pipes on your tri glide ? I put smoked LED tail lights on my tri glide looks better and way better than than the stock lights

No plans for any kind of lights at this time. I would not mind some day putting some undercarriage show lights on such as blue in color so they show up at night.

@jamesmandra86952 жыл бұрын
@@windsurfed1 surprised? When you had to put a heat deflector on your Right calf, I felt that heat too. The M8s on a Trike run hot. The rear fenders, tight clearance of tank/ restrict airflow. It is almost necessary to add cooling accessories like you and I did, in order to have a enjoyable Summer ride. HD should’ve considered that in the design of that fine machine. But it gets you to purchase the add ons.
@windsurfed12 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmandra8695 You are correct. I almost forgot about that heat shield. Since I put Jim's Force Flow Fan on and HD cooling fan. I have not even notice any heat on my leg.
