Yeah mate that's awesome, more spot review videos in windsurfing tv is the way to go! Ask Maciek and maybe volounteers to do send you local spot reviews, you could add a new playlist/section about spots
@WindsurfingTV4 жыл бұрын
Actually a while ago we came up with a framework and shot list - so you guys around the world could go out and shoot your local beach. Then you just send us the said clips and info and we put it together. But i haven't finalized it all yet. So good to hear if you think it's a good idea.

Congrats!! Very good video. Unfortunately There are many spots the surfing schools don't let us windsurf quietly even in 30 knots. There are so many schools in the spanish Atlantic coast that they are a powerful and rich industry which acts as owners of the sea. I heard in hookipa windsurfing has priority over 12 knots. Really good to see people allowed to sail :-) Without going "political" again, I thought it could be good for the "world" to know France is starting something against NWO these last couple of days. People are in the streets protesting and burning things. Surfers are still chased and arrested by the police speed boats all along the Atlantic coast. Still no fixed date allowing sailing/surfing/swimming despite partial decontainmnet saturday. Being half-german by my mother, I didn't expect to live in such WW2 conditions one day. I definitely plan to escape to Portugal (by sea, by night, of course). 🏄♂️ Ride Like The Wind and long live Windsurfing.TV !

What size board anda how strong the wind?
@larsw.larsen41734 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben. When you go light wind wave sailing with a 4.7 - what board volumen do you use in relation to your weight?. How many liters more than your weight.? I am 78 kg - what board seize to recoment for like unstable conditions with some stops and some gusts, like in small point break light offshore - cross on conditions.
@WindsurfingTV4 жыл бұрын
I have a 90 (60 wide) as my big board. Best not to just look at volume... width has a big say. I am 78-80kg... also depending on how good the waves are and how light wind makes a difference. But around 90 i'd say is good. Probably need bigger in more light onshore...

Liked you "foda-se", it is almost perfect!! Been a Waterman enjoying those spots for over 30 years and if you think life there is good now you should have seen it decades ago. I stop publicizing the place sometime ago as things are becoming unsustainable. Please DON'T give the spots up the coast MORE EXPOSURE. Let them remain as secret as possible. B.
@WindsurfingTV4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment.. but when you say 'don't give the spots up?' I'm not sure i am the one giving the spots up... there are already online and well-publicized. The reason somewhere like Tonel is not busy is not because people haven't heard of it. It's because it's a hard place to sail and NOT consistent. The Canaries is Busy because it's consistent and easy... it's as simple as that. (IMO) I like Windsurfing with other windsurfers... Portugal needs more windsurfers to help get it back on the map and put some energy back into the scene. But the wave spots (especially so-called secret spots... which are never a secret they just don't work very often, not accessible or too gnarly ) will never get busy as they are too tricky and hard for your average sailor. I am definitely not the one lifting the lip on some secret spots/country no ones heard of! There are just more options out there... and a lot less windsurfers these days. We need to stick together and share this amazing sport.
@TheBwcmota4 жыл бұрын
@@WindsurfingTV Ben, don't get me wrong. I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm all for promotion the sport and getting more people Windsurfing. I love it and if I could I do it everyday. The reason I insisted on the "low" spot exposure is because we, at least I, also do other watersports and the place if wonderfully for everything, there is always something fun to do! Tourism in Portugal, and especially that corner, has boobmed the last decade and is becoming unsustainable. Let's not forget that that coast and the area is a park, and the pressure on the authorities for building has been increasing. The last thing I wish is for the area to become like the rest of the Algarve. If you think Martilhal is fun, you should have seen it before they build the urbanisation: you had consistent wind from the cliffs to the port. You are right about the wind consistency but, as you will discover in time, there are other consistent spots but with difficult accessibility. Potting the spotlight on them, is just asking for more development, access and people (not only windsurfers) I hope you find them and have superb sessions . Your channel is great and you have a large oudiance, but keep in mind the place is a natural park with very delicate ecosystems. Have fun and enjoy Bernardo
@svdl86144 жыл бұрын
Can't agree more with Ben. I also think it's very possible to tap into the massive windsurf potential of SW Portugal WITHOUT demolishing it's ecosystem. Just depends how you build and organise things.
@svdl86144 жыл бұрын
Big part of the ecological problems in the Algarve region are (as far as I have seen) is the people free camping everwere and just leaving their #$@/ in the National Park. #Vanlife and #offthegrid is booming on Insta but few take responsibilty to do it sustainable
@svdl86144 жыл бұрын
Not enough campsites.. Just let people pay to stay and organise waste disposal from that money. Guess it's difficult because it's National Park status..
