Leo and crew need a bottle of Balderdash for the next Duchess of Desire commercial, and to keep in that beautiful liquor cabinet on the boat. Great job by all on the capstan. American perseverance and ingenuity at its best.

I guess they do not cast in Germany or South Africa??? It has nothing to do with America and your comment has nothing to do with patriotism. BTW: These guys look like a bunch of old English buddies.

There is a famous quote from John Steinbeck's "Cannery Row"; "Why don't you just give up." It is very informative to watch you keep going after each problem pour. I don't call them a failed pour because they weren't failures, they were part of the process it took to gain the knowledge to accomplish to final results. This is a good lesson in perseverance. Thanks

Clark and gang, you’ve done yourselves proud! What an impressive collective effort that highlighted for all of us who are not knowledgeable of foundry work the knowledge, skill, artistry, and persistence that it involves and demands. Your work, together with everyone involved in rebuilding and upgrading Tally Ho’s capstan, will have restored a historical piece of equipment that will, because of you, see new life for many years to come. Thank you from a long-standing Tally Ho supporter. I’ve greatly enjoyed your videos and have learned a lot. I wish you continued success in your profession.

Well done to everyone involved, im a metal worker and fabricator so i know how much work, trial and error , calculations and research etc goes on behind the scenes to produced a finished product like this. Ignore the folk who have no understanding of the processes involved who are being negative and nasty about it, everyone who works with their hands and anyone with a reasonable education knows that things like this arent simple. All that the negative folk end up doing is expose their lack of knowledge so it just serves to show them up and certainly doesnt make you or your work look bad. You have demonstrated a vast amount of knowledge of casting because of the trial and errors that was encountered during your process, to show that you knew why each attempt failed and how to change the process to remedy it requires knowledge only really gsined by a lifetime spent actually doing that type of work.
