We’ve got the fix for worn-out bushings on this 8 tonne forklift! In this video, we take you inside our workshop to see how we do this complete repair. We begin with removing the tynes (tines) followed by a thorough inspection to identify any damage before the real work begins, machining up the new bushings using polyurethane plastic! We'll take you through every step, from drilling out the centers to machining for a perfect fit. But bushings aren't enough! We also machine up some retaining plates from 1045 steel to keep those new bushings locked in tight. But before installing, we drill the bolts holes in the plates and grease holes in the bushings using our milling machine. With everything completed it's time to re-assemble and put it to the test: will the forklift tynes operate smoothly with their shiny new parts? Tune in to find out if our repair holds up!
In this video we are using:

TAKE TWO!🤞😅 Unfortunately the original upload got Age-Restricted and de-monetized by YT for policy violations and our appeal was rejected, so we've made some small changes to hopefully avoid that happening again and keep it viewable for you all! 😕 Thanks so much for all the support as we got things sorted! 🥰 For anyone wondering why we used Acetal plastic and not bronze for the bushings, we gave the customer both options but bronze was 5 times the cost so they chose the cheaper option 👍 🔔Hit the notification bell so you never miss our new weekly video. ✍Leave a comment below with your questions or thoughts. 🔓Get Early Access & Ad Free videos in our Patreon community: www.patreon.com/cuttingedgeengineering 🛒Check out all our CEE Merch here: www.ceeshop.com.au

I keep wondering why I find it wonderfully mesmerizing to watch metal (and plastic) being machined. Maybe it's the exactness of the results while swarf flies wildly about. Maybe it's watching rust-coated material turn into gleaming silver parts. Maybe its the sound of things getting done (without a music track). Maybe it's great camera angles letting the viewer feel like a tool being used in the whole process. Anyway, this NZ-born American really enjoys watching your channel. Cheers.

The flip side is that harder-wearing bushings often produce more wear on the shaft. I've seen shafts worn down relatively quickly after someone "upgraded" to brass or bronze, after decades of service with OE-equivalent plastics. One option I would have preferred as the customer - and it may have been offered - would be a second pair of bushings, to be replaced in 3-6 months. That would allow the wear rate to be checked and a PM schedule determined.

Hey you guys got the video back up 🎉🎉🎉 it’s a monster forklift and I really enjoyed the video. 🥰😍❤️ I’m going to try and figure out what was removed between this and the original video. I’m going to be serious for a minute and let you know I didn’t see Kurtis’s junk the first time around.

was only couple of minor tweaks and some of the outtakes removed, we really didn't see any other issues that would cause it to be age-restricted. Bit of a guessing game

Well, I guess I'm watching it again. When the age restriction popped up I thought, as they say across the pond, my TV was on the blink. Just as entertaining as the first go around.

Watching, commenting, and liking again. It’s crazy you had to do this especially the reason they de-monetized it for. Y’all’s work ethic is inspiring to me. Keep us posted if the re-upload was successful in not be restricted.
