as someone who has worked in restaurants and at a winery, typically the wine they use in sangria is just boxed wine because all of the stuff they add in completely changes the flavors to the point that the wine base would be wasted if it's a "nice" wine.

We just had brunch there this past weekend! Omg the caramel apple French toast…Mac & cheese bites are on the brunch menu too! They take the discount for brunch as well.

Great review. I know this review is a year old but hope it holds true. We will be down in 2 days and have reservations at WBG. From your review we are looking forward to it. We do the same thing, multi apps instead of a large meal. We will be getting both the wine and cocktails. Thanks !

BTW my husband is not a fan of California Grill especially now with all the price fix menus, but he LOVES the Maple Bourbon Old Fashion up there. Now we try to sit at the bar, I hope you get a chance to run up there and review it.

Looks delicious! I'd have to pass on the cheese - it seems to give me digestive issues. I would try to order the pork belly without the glaze and seeds and a charcuterie board, but not sure if it's worth it since I wouldn't be getting wine. Looks good!

Thanks for this review! We enjoy the food at WBG and love the outdoor seating. The thing that draws us to this location is the wine menu and the expertise that the staff has with recommending pairings with the food. I was looking forward to your review of this aspect of the experience, especially with the added benefit of a wine certificate (certification?) but you didn’t really cover it. That was a little surprising, especially at wine bar.

Yeah, part of what goes into our reviews is trying to cover what would be helpful for the most people that watch. I just didn’t think a deep dive into that would showcase what most patrons would want from WBG. If a lot of people ask for it, we’ll go back and do another review focusing on wine pairings.

I've been wanting to go there for years! Just never works out. How do you think it would be taking kids there? I guess I have labeled it an adult outing experience only which has kept us from going lol.

Totally depends on why you’re going. If you want to go get expert wine pairings with descriptions on tasting notes, regions, vintages, varieties, etc - go sans kids. But if you’re looking for great food in a fun atmosphere with incredible wines and cocktails, kids are more than welcome.
