I liked the marketing strategy of your New Channel. It reminds me of what Peter Jones of Dragons Den UK once said that if you have passion in your content creation, you can open a channel without doing anything and get traction. Congrats on Paris in Your Pocket Jay!

We’re at Furia now, based on your recommendation. It is THE best meal we’ve had in Paris so far. And the wine is also excellent. Thank you so much, Jay.

@paris.in.my.pocket7 ай бұрын
Hey! A lot of places in my guide are pretty budget-friendly, but of course everyone's budgets are different. It also depends on the type of cuisine you're interested in!

1) Love the new channel. It’s going to be big. 2) I just plugged O’Chateu into Google Maps. It’s 900 feet from my couch. We’ll tell them Jay sent us over. 3) FISH TACOS?! Haven’t had a good one in months, also this week. Bon chance!

I live in Baja and have downed my share of fish tacos over the years. When in Paris for an extended stay, I usually start “Jones-zen” for some tacos de pescado about a week into the trip. Next visit when I need a fix, I’ll give Furia a try. Gracias for the heads up🤙🏽

Look at you!! 3,000 subs in less than a week!🚀Separating out your Paris in My Pocket content from your other channel was a good move. It feels clean and right on time. Are you eventually going to migrate your other “pocket” vids over here?

Thanks, Erin! We're having a blast. As for migrating, right now the team's leaning more towards remaking and updating, so everything is fresh!

What's the French phrase equivalent for "Wine Flight"?
@paris.in.my.pocket7 ай бұрын
The phrase doesn't exist in the same way but you could try "une selection de vins" or "une degustation de vins"

🌴Aloha Question: What is a livable wage in France? Everybody uses that but nobody says what it is. 30 euro an hour or?
@paris.in.my.pocket7 ай бұрын
Depends where you are in France! Minimum wage for a full time job is about €1400/month net. But that's not a liveable wage for most people Paris really, though it could be manageable in more rural cities.
@jean-pierrecharpentier25467 ай бұрын
The minimum is €1,400 per month. In Paris and the Paris region, the amount is higher because living is more expensive. After 7 years with the same company, there's usually a "seniority bonus" (5% to 12%), plus various bonuses (13th or 14th month, overtime, etc.). In the French provinces, a blue-collar worker's salary can reach €2,400 to €2,500 at the end of his or her career, including bonuses, and €4,500 to €5,000 for an executive.
@ADAtrips7 ай бұрын
Wow. I do not think $1400 is a liveable wage. Here in Honolulu it is difficult for “most” to make a “livable wage” with only 1 job or have a family that contribute. Most work 2 or more jobs. I work a job but I have different income streams that do not are not “jobs”. Now I work for the benefits. I assume it is the same in France? Wait staff need work in a high end restaurant or have other $$? I think I will pay the waiter/ staff a percentage of the bill when I visit Paris. Here I do not consider a “tip” a tip. I consider it part of their wage and I am an employer for a short time. Aloha
@jean-pierrecharpentier25467 ай бұрын
@@ADAtrips1400 euros is a start, and the aim is to earn more over time, usually by changing jobs or progressing within the company. As far as tipping is concerned, in France, waiters and waitresses are salaried employees: they already have a salary and tips are just an extra, which is why tipping is not an obligation in France. You can leave €1 or €2 if you wish, but never a percentage of the bill.

Natural is to wine as IPA is to beer. Too trendy. Sometimes amazing. Often too much.
@paris.in.my.pocket3 ай бұрын
We love natural wine! There are so many options and we're rarely disappointed, but it's still a really wide and varied designation, a certain flavor/taste is never guaranteed.
