WINE: Install 32-Bit and DXVK Windows Games on macOS Sonoma

Important info: 2:25 You must now install DXVK by searching for it (click on search for packages and type DXVK) and install the latest version. If you are installing other applications, please check WineHQ first to make sure they will even run under Wine and how to troubleshoot other bugs. Many Windows programs will not run, especially modern games that require anti-cheat or DirectX12. So if you run into an error, please search on Google first. Second info: Please follow this tutorial step by step, it's impossible that some part of the Wineskin GUI just "doesn't" work. If you're not able to open the app, it's really important paste in the command shown here: 00:59 I'll try to always answer your questions and help when something doesn't work but sometimes, i just don't know how to fix it, this is why it's important to search on Google/Bing/DDG.. whatever first :D

hey , everything works amazing for me , but at 3:49 , the "wineskin is currently busy" keeps happening , it doesnt stop , it shows app not responding ... it didnt show it when i downloaded rockstar games launcher , but when im downloading valorant ,the app stops responding, pls helppp edit:- now its happening with rockstar games as well , im not getting anything after 3:53 , i dont get the launcher.exe part , the wineskin is busy keeps happening until i force quit it , pls fucking help

One of these causes could be non english alphabet letters, which Wine doesn't like at all. Use only letters from A to Z and numbers from 0 to 9. Also make sure that your username contains only these letters (or numbers).

when i select the exe file and press install it says No new executables found! Maybe the installer failed...? If you tried to install somewhere other than C: drive (drive_c in the wrapper) then you will get this message too. All software must be installed in C: drive.

I think you opened the *.EXE in Finder, which obviously doesn't work. You need to open it using Wineskin.

I am trying to install a windows game called Pharaoh. Which is from the late 90s (1998) there are two executables. Autorun.exe and Setup.exe, autorun's main menu works fine, but when I click install the prompt crashes. When trying to set the installer as setup.exe nothing pops up. However, when test running nothing shows up as wrong. The error reads no new executables found! Please help.

For whatever reason after I install steam using this method I'm only able to launch it with the wrapper once. Whenever I try to open it again nothing happens and the only way for me to open it is throw test runs which don't even work most of the time.

Great video! I followed your tutorial and everything went well. However I’m trying to install Retrobat. Which is an emulation front end for windows. It installs fine… but I get an error when trying to open that retrobat will not open when run under administrator, and to run as a normal user? There is no "admin mode" in Wine, but you can try to run it in Windows XP mode, maybe then it will skip the admin check

I chose the option where it just says steam.exe, but all the options like library and profile are just black, I changed the path to ''(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe -no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist)'' and now I get a prelauncher but no steam thing in general, when I run it, it flashes for a milisecond and thats it, the questions in the comments, some don't have an answer which I'm also looking for so it would be nice if you replied with some help or did an updated version of this and did it for steam

This is normal, you can always select your *.exe manually after installation.

@@spacepatrolofficer I've doing some research and I think I've found something, the game needs windows 8.1 to run but with wineskin winery you're using win7, so, in the winetricks part I believe that typing win8.1 and downloading should fix the issue. I won't be able to test this until I get home from college but as soon as I do, and if it works I'll update you

You can change the Windows version in Winecfg, downloading win8.1 in Winetricks does the same but downloads a .reg file to change it.

Hello, I'm trying to install Steam with this tutorial but when Steam open, the library nor my profile or anything in Steam loads, it just stays in black, any way to solve this? Many old games require a CD crack to start. Most SecuROM based games also don't allow to simply just mount the ISO file and use it to launch the game.

RGL is still somewhat buggy on Wine, it also has issues on Linux where you have to restart the app every time you start a game or install the redists like DirectX. Try clicking the install button quickly and then close the launcher. It may continue downloading after you restart the app.

Installing DXVK it gives : wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\sysnative/regedit" Afterwards it gives warning: Note: command wine64 C:\windows\sysnative/regedit /S C:\windows\Temp\override-dll.reg returned status 53. Aborting. If I manually create a path which it cannot find then the Aborting code is 186: warning: Note: command wine64 C:\windows\sysnative/regedit /S C:\windows\Temp\override-dll.reg returned status 186. Aborting. And a programm later on gives a mistake on missing libraries libEGL.dll; libGLESv2.dll; d3dcompiler_*.dll. Any ideas? Great video !
