Two Actual Correct Moves! - Brady's Blunders 71

In which I discuss a few more basic concepts, that I actually got right, this time. Sorry for the glitches in the vid, sadly I have no idea what caused them. I had even just restarted the laptop. I don't think it likes summer heat. Anyway, the glitches didn't occur at key times, so I elected not to redo.

V. nice indeed, thank you. The cliff-hanger is brilliant. B makes W group weak and so his adjacent group strong. Now W makes B group weak, but does it make his adjacent group strong? No, W cannot play that way if his group is already weak, so W has made a bad move. Being first to make this type of move is real important.

"Maybe that's right most of the time, but it's often not the best move" Sums up all dan+ logic to me (sdk) For the last white's move, I'd think that it's a bad move because it would force you to strengthen your stones (or pull them out), and thus indirectly weaken white's group that is under attack currently. Furthermore, I think attacking at H15 would be better because it may be more profitable. But I think attacking here in general is wrong. I'd be looking at moves to play from my weaker side to push these stones onto my stronger side, something like this.

Hi, Brady! I would like to add a few words about the variation in the right upper corner. For me it seems that if we change the order of moves something like: W: O15, B: J17, W: G17, B: M17, W: Q18; it is more obvious that B need to deny W stabilization in the corner to make B's own group feel fine. Also in this line O17 looks a bit ackward to me. As for the last W's move, it seems that after playing out some normal continuation like: K17, J18, L17 or something else, B's group is still okay and even becoming thick, while W' group is becoming weaker and there is some weakness in the O18, P18 area so W is not guarantee an eye there. Of course W can push like L18 but blocking M18 seems okay for me too. because after L17, L16, J18, M16 B is still okay, whereas W;s group under some pressure.

Thanks for posting, enjoyed the video. My 8K response to K18: seems too soon. If black just jumps to J15 he threatens to erase W potential on the top while building strength to attack white on top right? as W i'd rather force black to jump to M15 - then white runs out and erases black's potential on the right. Am I way wrong or only a little wrong? :)
