While I’ve not yet had an aged Lynch-Bages, I recently went to a grand cru Bordeaux tasting/convention for the 2020 vintage and tasted tons of classified growths (no first or second growths) including Lynch-Bages, Pichon Baron, Pichon Lalande, Beychevelle, Smith-Haut Lafite, etc. I remember that many of them were almost identical, but Lynch-Bages stood out as having this enormous concentrated texture and dense flavor that made some of the other wines there seem like they’d been watered down. I was super impressed with it and I could see how a wine that powerful could age for decades and decades.

Is this the first bottle this guy opened or is he just wasted?

Absolutely the best, most delicious wine I’ve ever tasted, bar none. Vintage 1998.

Absolutely no idea of tasting what so ever, the reason for decanting is to reduce sediment from the bottle to the glass but no lets tip it up and even shake out the last drop !

This video was posted 2015, so the bottle was 6 years old at that point. 6 year old grand cru Bordeaux will have absolutely no sediment at 6 years of age, it’s way too young. I just drank a 2005 Chateau Lagrange the other day (18 years old) and it barely had any sediment at all, I was actually surprised.

too young though. And i suggest you let the wine open itself a little longer before tasting it.
