I developed a more common sense form of Wing Chun that is better translated for, "in the street" use. I use the very same principles, and most of the basic techniques, however, I elim- inate a couple of the less effective techniques. I concentrate more on a DIRECT offense, such as striking the opponents forearms HARD, which is followed by explosive attacks to either the head, stomach, or ribs. In a real street fight, most attacker's will swing wide. I rely on quick footwork, or a lateral, side-to-side, "Weave," to avoid the person's attack. From there I either ridge hand to the crotch, or powerful hook to the gut.

Coming from a nuclear engineering background, it's nice to see when people approach things like this. We are ALL subjected to the laws of physics. Another aspect of physics that is rarely addressed in martial arts/combat sports is the concept of impulse. That concept, more than "hitting through your opponent" determines punching power IMO. Thanks for the great videos!
