Wing Chun - Grandmaster Samuel Kwok | Blind Chi Sao

There were master classes with Steven Seagal Shihan and Grandmaster Samuel Kwok in both Aikido and Wing Chun.

I think chisao is not about how we hit people or hurt people. But more towards, how we react with touch and make a move. If we fight, offcourse we don't use chisao form...Tansao, Fuksao and Bongsao, but we need the concept of chisao. If you hit people and he knock already, its OK. But...how you action when your punches are repelled?? And how is your opponent grap your hand or want to take you down.... This is just our opinion... Sorry if our view is wrong.

Thank you for you comments! I'm not a wing chun expert, so can't really give an opinion. I filmed this last year at an Aikido Seminar. My friend who teaches Wing Chun in Bangkok also have some videos on my channel. Have you seen them, perhaps you might prefer those? 🤔

I chi Sao'd with "gm" kwok once as a novice, I'd been training 18 months when he held a seminar. I performed Bong/Lap followed by a fak Sao and almost touched his face, he just walked off and didn't teach me anything, his technique is not real Wing Chun, just watered down marketable crap. He only wants your money

Well, idk about teaching, that is a different topic, but when I chi sao'd with him (after about 3 years of training) he completely and utterly took over my defence. I've never felt anything like that before or since, and I've chi sao'd with many people who have been doing wing chun for a long time. It wasn't that he was faster than me, it was that I just had no control over my own structure, couldn't build energy to actually strike properly, and meanwhile he had free reign to hit me. I landed a hit, but it had nothing behind it. I learnt a lot about putting pressure on your opponent from that short session. If you were only doing it for 18 months, perhaps you simply hadn't developed your sensitivity yet? Though I would be surprised that you hadn't at that point, but otherwise I do not understand us having such different experiences.

Stick hands not so useful in restaurant/pubs. A knockout punch or kick or aikido/judo arn lock better
