Dan Lok My Money Sifu I enjoyed this video. There is also a training method utilizing 3 poles in the ground in the array of a triangle with a foundation of sand. This comes from Mok Gar Kung Fu which is a leg style from Canton which originated from Jin Si, who is the Shaolin monk that is the father of all kicking styles that gave rise to Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Mu Da Quan, and Su Bok Do. One would stand at the center and attack the poles as if they are the legs of the adversaries utilizing the kicking techniques you demonstrated. Nice job!! Thanks Nick Mirante NY

Your "business" stuff is not something for me to comment on. However, your martial arts is exceptional. Other than my MMA, boxing, and Jujitsu that is practiced in a legitimate setting, JKD, Wing Chun, and other less recognized martial arts are all practiced in my home as I do not trust the Dojo's around me for reputable martial arts. With that being said, your channel has brought me some of the BEST tips I could have ever asked for in terms of JKD/WC. Thank you. Subbed.

Hi Dan I always admire your previous videos. However this time your kicking video's camera is quite bad coz of the extreme blur. I do hope that you can re-shoot it again, if you don't mind. I wish that you cover other Wing Chun close quarter leg techniques in the future. Thank you for your excellent videos.

These are very effective IRL. I know from experience. Train for speed and accuracy; the latter being the most important. You can manipulate and feel your opponent's foot position by moving back and forth before the strike. If your opponent knows nothing about your strengths & weaknesses, a blow to the leg may briefly shock his mind, temporarily incapacitating both arms. Try seizing control quickly whilst he's disorientated.

You "feel" your opponent's leg like an octopus feels with its tentacles. Only, rather than tentacles, your using multiple visualisations of your leg in various positions at an actual moment of the attack. Choose your tentacle (leg position) when ready to strike, and allow your leg to snap back or land in a comfortable position to maintain balance into the next strike or evasion. Only feel with your tentacles, don't think about them. Adrenalin will make your tentacle selection automatic IRL.

I trained in Sanshou from 5 to 17 years old. Wasn't until I got into my first street fight I realized that 90% of what I was taught didn't work. Kicking techniques taught in conventional sport martial arts don't work in the street. Theirs nowhere near enough distance, you aren't on stable ground and you're balance is severely impaired even though the kick will have little to no effect. Adrenaline kills all pain, look up stories of people being shot and still carrying on fighting. So what effect do you really think your kick will do? Your only target should be his head, you need to knock him out, switch off the computer. Your hands should be the only tool you use, maybe elbows if you're really confined. However despite this, if you are going to kick maybe the situation demands it then the kicks shown in this video (low front / low side) are the only ones you should use. They're low so they don't jeopardize balance, also because they're low it's more likely he won't see it coming. Also you aren't over committing yourself to the kick should it miss. In the event your kick did miss you're still balanced and ready to strike with your hands. Their is still a lot of unnecessary stuff in wing chun but I've always loved it due to it being highly efficient and logical. It's not enough for me to give you this knowledge you must seek out your own experiences as well. Only then will you realise what I'm saying is true.

I used to think Wing Chun had a lot of fluff in it too. As I played with it over years and heard different perspectives and grasped the idea of the technique behind motions and what they were trying to teach you rather than movements themselves it started seeming like less fluff and make more sense.

The moral of the story is the older you get, a higher kick can get you in trouble. Regardless of Wing Chun.
