Forward pressure is more important than force. Nice teaching. Glad to see attention to the elbow and proper rotation.

Nice description of techniques. The elbow rotates from tan to bong, with forward pressure, on center line. If you try out different elbow placement, you’ll feel how strong it is to keep the elbow down and centered. It has helped me to slow down and practice feel and flow, chi sau builds good rooting and balance, and practices push, pull, and redirect force, not overcommitted. With my bong sau I feel an uncoiling into the opponent, arm level with shoulder, feels like unscrewing a light bulb. Also it helps to randomize the tempo, delay, keep each other guessing so you build feel and reactions. Nice flowing drill at the end too.

I notice more things as I rewatch your videos a few times. Thank you for the clear practical instructions, I tell other students to check out your vids too. It is easy to forget or gloss over foundational details but then later you have to unlearn bad habits. One good tip is at 6:45 and earlier, the tan sau. Keeping the palm flat towards the opponent. I used to always have mine up at 45 degrees (in line with forearm) but you can feel stronger force when it is flatter as you show, more forward power in the hand and forearm. Plus it could be used as a strike/finger thrust.

Yo, Dan seriously! Is this some type of comedy at the end of your demonstrations with the guy with glasses?! Nothing against him, but when I watch him, I kinda forget what I just learnt from you, which I value a lot. Anyways, greetings from New York.

Sifu Dan, sir I really enjoyed this video. I believe this is design for close in fighting. This must take the practice of a thousand drills to master and to be able to turn around and use it in combat. It is too bad that you are not in Texas, because I would run to your school. You keep up the good work, because I appreciate your whole concept, knowledge, and expertise.

I like how to xplain the why and not just the doing of the technique because if you don't understand why you are doing something then it won't come together correctly wen needed and it will fail, a jab is a jab but if u don't know the mechanic of a jab a how and y to use 1 it becomes useless

@sleepingcyber6235
@sleepingcyber6235 6 жыл бұрын
vishal sharma I know I am not the person in the video but I have done Wing Chun and JKD before. The meaning of JKD is the way of the intercepting fist meaning trapping and hitting before you are hit. Bruce adoted fencing footwork from his brother when his brother kept touching Bruce before Bruce could touch him. Kudos.

These types of techniques when used against certain styles like a Aikedo could open you to being grabbed and wrist locked and thrown or taken down. I like WC for advanced students but would teach a beginner more of a kempo step out of the way of the attack and attack from the side. JMO
