Just subscribed to your page. I just want to say thank you for these helpful videos. I've trained in Taekwondo for a year and would still get bullied a lot because it was mostly defense and escapes I was learning. But with your style you demonstrate in these videos I feel more confident in protecting myself but more importantly I feel I can attack and defend almost simultaneously. Thank u again for your videos they are really helping me be more confident and calm in scary situations.

Thank you for your videos and your teachings. I have survived street attacks and street fights and usually is from bigger opponents who will use boxing as a method of attack. Self defense could be complicated. For me it goes down to knowing what works for my body type and psychology. Panic and fear will come, for those reasons I keep it simple, am a moving target and my attack is always lethal. Even after a good four decades I still practice the exact same routine step by step. The question for me has been, how do I beat some one who is better and stronger on my worst day. Many great technics won’t work for everyone, we are limited by our physical abilities, is up to the student and teacher to find out what that is and practice what will work. Thank you for indulging me and I hope you continue making more videos.

New subscriber from London. Love the video. Fresh air, brilliant views and clear precise instructions from a very informative Sifu. I learnt under Grandmaster Victor Kan many years ago as well as under Sifu Tam Yiu Ming who was taught under Grandmaster Leung Ting. Took a long break but have been training everyday for past few months. Recapping on the three forms and I've also just installed the wooden dummy at home. You gave me the bug back. Thanks. Stay safe.

Where was the hook? I didn’t see a hook. All I saw was a sloppy straight-armed windmill. A hook has a bend in the elbow that will go right around your block. It’s also a shorter-ranged lunch.

@Master Monkey well this kind of technique work for street fight and self defense. Not for an crazy guy who fight with a boxer because an 10 years old kid tell him to do that 🤣 P/S: Dan had made a video for some Winchun guy trying to box with a boxer so check it out
@raian4815
@raian4815 3 жыл бұрын
@Master Monkey honestly, I see how it works but you would have to have a lot of fighting experience to pull it off.. not saying its impossible but you would have to be someone like Mayweather (with incredible reaction time and has to know what hit is coming) to pull wing chun off. I did some boxing so yeah im not a wing chun fan boy.

I like the fact you bring up training the nervous system cause many don't touch on that.. I did 4yrs in the military and had a Arms room Sgt really into WuShu and he gave me pointers.. I was always into Jeet Kung Do and Thai Boxing but learn from all Self-Defense styles and do a blend of what feels comfortable for me.. It works for me.. My aunt was a Brown belt in Tae Kwon Do by the time I was 7yrs and would take me to her classes and she teach me stuff.. Wasn't into tournament styles.. Love ya vids

Hi Dan, I was hoping you would make this stop hit video. I also prefer turning the arm as well. Also, Bruce always remained calm and loose until his fist made contact then he tensed up it increased his speed. This is why Bruce transitioned over from Wing Chun to JKD. You have been a great inspiration for me to keep training. Thank you, Nick

You have no idea why Bruce had to transitioned form WC to JKD, it has nothing to do with what you wrote. But I don't blame you, that is not common knowladge why Bruce had do leave China and stop learning WC.

I realize the hook punch is the most difficult to deal with for most systems, but this method could be dangerous. Aiming for the inner elbow to block means near impossible to block a taller fighter. His forearm, thus fist will meet your face before you can block the arm. There are better techniques applied in WC that would work better imo.
