ngl...a bit of a disappointing final from both sides. Felt like I was watching a qualifier round. I'd still give it to Wing. For those who are supporting X-Rain winning, ask yourself this: If you removed the names and only saw their silhouettes, would you be able to tell who the bboy was dancing? An issue I see with a lot of newer gen is that while they are very dynamic, they lack any originality or style. I remember when I was at a Zooty Zoot workshop, he mentioned that he learned flares/airflares and most power already when he was a teen, and it was only afterwards he struggled to focus on his own style.

I wonder how Olympic break dance is able to measure this "originality or style" when is based on personal preference and not perfection scores like other sports

Well, for me, I think: 1st Round - Wing 2nd Round - X-Rain 3rd Round- X-Rain In the 1st Round, The style of Wing is very unique, he was acting like sliping over and over again, with a very smooth style. But in the 2nd and 3rd Round, X-Rain can dancing through the beat more accurate than Wing. Also, X-Rain got more powermove in his dance. ( I need to emphasize that this is my own opinion ONLY, please do not write some hateful comment below if you do not agree with my opinion)

@rbgalldayeveryday- Wrong!!! I was born in Brooklyn. Breakdancing was invented by Puerto Ricans in the Bronx but there were some Black Breakdancers . NYC Breakers and Rock Steady Crew- Look them up! @meltednostrilsbornwithoutn781 Жыл бұрын
Um other Races have embraced it for 40 years already. The fact that is your comment instead of anything about the battle says all you need to know about how ignorant to breaking you actually are. It's like watching a basketball game and some White guy saying, I'm glad these Blacks embraced a White invention.

Hmm, if we put so much pressure on old school, then nowadays bboys will be having no chance to win with somebody who started breaking in 90s. Wing was and still is all the way true bboy, but this final should've been taken by X-Rain who kept his power up until the very last second. And no, Im not talking about power moves, lol. He had energy and stayed fresh. Wing was just being Wing. Who still has high level, dont get me wrong. But he shouldn't be taking finals only because he's Wing. Ahh.
@FreeFocusDance Жыл бұрын
I don't think Wing took that last round, but overall won. X-Rain might have 'energy' but lacks finesse & style, it's harder to break slower then faster (and in 1 direction). X-Rain went in the same circle pattern as most powerheads do, and lacked musicality.
