Coach, the one aspect I think to add in from the wing-t is that you run plays in series. Packages of plays that all look alike, that within the series you’ll have answers to what your opponent does all with out it looking any different from the defensive side for the first three steps. I.e. buck sweep, trap, G, waggle, waggle throwback, sally all from same formation, all with different attacking points, all look the same for the first three steps. Doing that out of the air raid is something that I rarely see, as too many AR coaches don’t package their plays to create deception. More than just a PA action I mean. (Wing t teams literally have ruts run in the field usually from running the series over and over.)

You are correct coach. Packaging plays is one of the key takeaways I discovered while reading the Wing-T Bible.

Thanks coach. That means a lot coming from you.

Not a coach yet, but hopefully I can get the chance to. I love the traditional spread myself, although I would love to implement some air raid tendencies.

I'll soon be starting my own channel about my offense with other coaches and would like to collab with you. Ever thought about going through any gadget/trick plays as well?
@CoachMcKie5 жыл бұрын
Sure man. Love to collaborate. I’ve thought about it but I never pull the trigger in games.

Hi coach, we run buck sweep/midline and key screen away from the sweep and midline. We can hit the sideline,edge and up the middle in one play. Works for us..not sure if you run it and if so how
@CoachMcKie5 жыл бұрын
That’s nasty coach. We don’t run it as a midline but I bet defenses hate seeing it.
@s.patricklewis11893 жыл бұрын
We ran it that way when I coached football. Very dangerous offense
@CoachScott615 жыл бұрын
Great concepts. Do you give the QB the option to decide? Or is that coming from the sideline?
@CoachMcKie5 жыл бұрын
On the Counter? He decides. We drill it daily so he understands what he should do.

@@CoachMcKie But Forest Evashevski would have embraced this philosophy. He was an innovator at Iowa. He'd be using a 1-back, 4-receiver at the line offense if he were coaching today, and his 21st Century Randy Duncan would be somebody like Patrick Mahomes.
