I have some really good ideas regarding this Wingboard.. It would be difficult, but making the rudder and ailerons turn with the rider's Center of Gravity would make it way easier to ride. (I assume the rider controls ailerons and rudder with a remote on their hand, which wouldn't feel too intuitive)

This is a kite with a human on it. It will flip over immediately.

Well clearly it won't since they flew a full sized model in the video...

@@jaffacalling53 Since this is a University project I would expect they also calculate stability margins and controllability gramians of the total system. “It flew” will not cut it.

I came up with this idea 30 years ago I designed it to be pulled behind a boat for a reason SAFETY and you don't have the rider hold the rope you put 2 attached poles something like snow ski polls to help stabilize the ride and give him more control ability with the wing he has to shift his weight to get it to move and holding a rope has his center point of gravity to high and the body's stabilizer muscles can't compensate for the force of the wind on him and the wing putting 2 polls mounted one on each side give a 4 point contact negates most of the stabilizer problems and gives far greater control and please by all mean put that thing in water for your at least first style of one if you don't someone will die almost right after you make your first sale and it'll probably be your last and yes I'm upset that I let my family tell me I was an idiot 30 years ago at 15 years old but at least I can see something I know I dreamed up come to light and if you decide to put it on water there is a hydraski design that is simular to a snow ski design for handicap down hill skiers that they used to make a boat ski come up out of water that you can use to give you the initial lift up out of water I'll look it up on KZbin and tell you the name of it and yes congratulations on your success great minds think alike

I have serious reservations about the guy heading up this project. Something's not right there, I can't pinpoint it, but the whole thing seems off and he is the center of it. Maybe it's because they're Canadian! HaHa!

stupid video talked about wing baording and only showed a few seconds of actually wing boarding.
