What’s incredible is almost all these songs were written and composed before Brian turned 24. He created a song book and legacy that will last forever. The man is a legend!

So saddened to hear about Melinda’s passing. Obviously, she meant everything to Brian. Watching this, brings on so many emotions. Brian‘s music along with his brothers and cousin have greatly moved me over the years. What a service Jeff Foskett has provided to all of us! He humbly covers the roles of Brian, Carl times, Glen Campbell and others. One of the most talented guys in the business, ever! Not to mention…… He was basically Brian‘s caretaker on the road for so many years.

Brian Wilson performing at a private party is pretty amazing on its own. Thanks for posting this. I have not seen this before. I believe this was about the time the 50 year reunion tour Beach Boys broke up for good. This clip shows even at that point, even not feeling well, Brian could still carry a show as lead vocalist.

There were perhaps ever a dozen or so of these so-called "corporate shows" with a cut-down band, some like Scott Bennett and i moving to other instruments than our normal. Since the audiences were not the general public, the feeling was looser and more about creating a party atmosphere. I always had great fun doing familiar material on a fresh instrument like bass.

I remember seeing the "corporate show lineup" at the Red Rock casino in Vancouver. Mid 2000s. Absolutely stripped down but great show - Brian was in fine voice and real outgoing. Saw one show, and I came back for the next evening... Really glad I did. Small little intimate theater, and I was happy to see Brian so engaged. During the final group bow, he lifted his shirt and showed his belly to the audience! Lol I'd like to also add, there was no teleprompter. Brian was just doing it free n easy.
@ShelleeGraham5 ай бұрын
@@chadstanley8862 What a wonderful story. I'm so glad you were able to see one of the best Brian Wilson shows in the most comfortable setting for him - an intimate theater. Love the part where he showed his belly to the audience. He's such a comic, a funny man that balances with his melancholy. Most of us try to achieve that balance.

For all the negatives of the late Gene Landy, Brian was much more confident and capable under his baton and there’s countless KZbin videos to verify that time period. The last time Brian Wilson truly worked hard was during the reunion tour of 2012 where if he wasn’t singing lead, he was actually singing backup and not just sitting there waving his arms.
