So glad I found your channel !! I live in the no mans land south of 30 and north of i80 between Iowa City and Des Moines. Really like a channel that is geared towards my locale and is so practical and not all crazy nonsense . Just real world applications . Subbed !!

Thanks!Very helpful IAWoodsman.I went and purchased a 10x10 lightweight tarp as I needed a tarp with even amount of sides.I like a shelter that has sides plus one that's quick and easy to setup.I so often camp at my "semi-permanent"campsite,and need to get out and try new places.I'm fortunate I live close to alot of wooded areas unlike those who live in the city or suburbs.I take advantage of that and get alot of dirt time in with at least six overnighters a year.By the way my username on bushcraftusa is Flint_2016 so you may already have read some of my posts. Thanks again.

Its a great configuration! I pitch my tarps in the same manner only 8x8 I don't need the extra space so I like a smaller foot print. great info Terry!

That's real clever, and you could turn it into a super shelter without much trouble with a grabber blanket and some poly painter drop cloth. So is that an 8 x 10? I camped out in a free-standing 8x10 last summer for awhile, and believe me, your set-up is a hundred times more comfortable looking. Those look like amazing tarps. I wish someone would make those cheapo blue tarps with the grommets set up that way for emergencies - they wouldn't have to last a year.

I'm thinking about getting some of that ridgeline cordage. Does it require specialized knots like some of the other new high-tech cordage?

Hey terry how are you tying off the ridge line? I see it wrapped around tree a couple times. Are you still tying a taut line hitch? Or a couple wraps and any ol granny knot? Thank Phil

Cool set-up! I have, most likely, a first run of the multi-cam 10x10 Bushcraft Outfitters tarp. Mine does not have that middle tab. Did you add it?

Nope, that is the way they are made now.
