DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A GOOD ARTIST. If I'm wrong about these things, please tell me, I am asking questions after all :) To me, the blue on gold is nice but too strong. Is it possible a blue ambient light on gold would create a more greenish hue (yellow + blue mixing) rather than a straight blue? And in the final illustration, wouldn't it make sense to add that ambient coloring into the darkest areas rather than just the middling value shadows?? Maybe it's just the stylistic choices

I think it would just appear darker (gold absorbs most blue light).
