This song was literally the 80's last assault. It was released in 1990. It was a send off for the Hair Metal and it was one of the greatest songs to come out of that era and it's still so criminally underrated.

@williamlangeii40128 ай бұрын
I admit, growing up I'm the 80s, high school in the 90s, and being a Metallica, Slayer, Testament, Helloween...fan back then, I made fun of a ton of school mates who wore a Winger shirt. Then, I heard this song in the movie and stayed in the theater (with the lights on by then) to see the song credits. I ran across the street to the mall and bought the soundtrack on cd and made a cassette of it. I took it to school the following Monday and played it to fellow "real metalheads" and asked if they liked it, everyone did. When I told them it was Winger I got shocked faces. I still remember what my best friend Metal Mike said: "yeah, well they still did Miles Away!!"😅😅

Rock has never went away. To claim this, youd have to have your finger on the pulse. Do you go to every gig? Do you purposely seek out labels and records? I do. And the bands out there are fantastic. I do not have enough money to own them all sadly. Try KZbin channel junkie business he has so many great bands
@FlerfDestroyer Жыл бұрын
A lot of Scandinavian bands are keeping it alive. Some damn good ones too
@revuutube Жыл бұрын
@@chriskennedy2298 Not this kind though. The rock people know now is either more metal/emo or more shoe store indie commercial. Of course there's always outliers still making the feel-good fun classic rock sound but in today's world they'll never be as big or known as acts like these were, even if they do everything right, even if they make tons of albums that aren't found. It's not enough that people don't listen to stuff like this anymore, but they also demonize and insult those who try. They label it buttrock or arena and it gets discouraged from being made by people like those on reddit, stopping the band from even forming while they're taught to all sound the same, and don't use reverb for one. We're living in a brainwashed world that didn't resist the preprogrammed morons and computer sleeze. I mean White Reaper - Fog Machine kinda sounds like this vibe and sounds great even live--even if their production is still more modern than this, but do you know who they are? Are they topping the charts?

serious question: why did everyone rip on Winger for being sissy rock? (Like it was the running gag in Beavis and Butthead having the nerdy kid Stewart with his winger t-shirt.) This song is pure badass rock
@OfficialKMAClub6 жыл бұрын
Sissy rock? I remember nothing wrong with Winger nor the many other hair bands back in the late 80s & 90s. Winger had some great hits. You have to remember that Beavis & Butthead's music bits often roasted the music played & the artists.
@ChaingunCassidy6 жыл бұрын
They also ripped on hair metal bands like Poison.
@Dredded_one6 жыл бұрын
Kip Winger was the poster child for hair metal pretty boys and Beavis and Butthead used that for a lot of their jokes because in their eyes rock and metal had to be hardcore and they had (in the show) the notion that if you weren't Metallica, Slayer, AC/DC, or something similar you were stupid, lame, or probably homosexual. It was nothing against the music itself but the projected image at the time.
