@@stromcrashtheicewing6353 it wasn’t sad for me because it’s not like one of those scenes where someone was trying really hard to keep her alive but it didn’t work (maybe like when Dune nearly got killed by Burn in winglets and Six-Claws was trying not get Dune’s wing broken but failed) it was just like no one in the book really cared for her dying (no, Soar/Chameleon does not care for Scarlet) because everyone was too focused on Ruby/Tourmaline, but yes I did get kinda upset when she died.

1. I was scrolling through the comment section of a KZbin video about books when someone recommended a cool kids series called Wings of Fire. It's my favorite book series and I've read all the books. 2. Arc 1. You can't go wrong with the classics. 3. My favorite book of all time is Darkstalker but excluding it, I'll pick the odd option in book 3. 4. Darkstalker 5. RainWings. I love the venomous tropical jungle feel of them and how you could do anything you want from them. 6. Starflight of the NightWings. 7. Coral of the SeaWings. I refuse to acknowledge her as queen because of how stupid she is. 8. Whiteout. She's absolutely gorgeous and I imagine her with heterochromia. Although, I also love Cricket's design. 9. Queen Hazel of the LeafWings. She is a good leader willing to be the best queen possible to her tribe. I hope Sequoia officially dies so she can take over. 10. Chameleon. Waiting for him to become better-written. 11. This is tricky. I'll split between two. First is the theory that there are subspecies of every tribe. The second is that any dragon born after Jerboa's spell won't be affected by it. 12. Any character from Dragonslayer. If that doesn't count, Ivy. 13. Chameleon of the RainWings cuz yes 14. Six-Claws. Just because he has a winglet doesn't mean that he isn't totally overlooked. 15. Starspeaker. I like it. 16. Burn x Blister is an actual ship, someone made a one-shot about it barf- 17. The Darkstalker book is amazing, Whiteout and Indigo are two of my favorites! And villains like Scarlet are my favorite to read about. She seems like one of the overdramatic villains who would definitely get hew own song in a Disney movie and I love that about her. Asha and Hvitur is a great headcanon.

My favorite friendship is turtle and peril because peril has a friend that she cares about that isn't clay, it's healthy for her to have multiple dragons that she cares about (even if it's just 2) and turtle seems to vibe well with her with his anxiety and nervousness fading away. I just love their dynamic so much and the image of them traveling though the forest only for turtle to be startled by like a bird or a rabbit Rustling the bushes beside the and he comically jumps into perils arms then seconds later remembered that she's fire scales and for her to drop him to the floor with a deadpan expression. Is hilarious, also peril swimming with turtle without burning anything

The one where Qibli is in the cave with Darkstalker with all the hens and stuff! That was so good, loved every second idk why. To me it just had a weird ‘OH HELL YEAH, GO QIBLI!’ effect. Literally no clue why. Not sure on the death front. Probably also Kestrel tho, sure she was kinda mean but she’s been through lots of things and that death was rather unnecessary. I did like the Summer palace fight yeah. Never really thought about it much so I’m undecided tbh.

Even though no one asked: 1. My friend since, like, 3 (I think) suggested it to me right after we reconnected a little over a year ago 2. Also arc two (but it was close bc arc 1 has a lot of nostalgia) 3. Moon Rising 4. Darkstalker 5. Sandwings (I dunno they're just cool... wait no I didn't mean for that to be ironic-) 6. Glory, Winter, and Deathbringer. As you can see, I LIVE for the sarcastic trashbags 7. Squid. ew. ugh. Also Ochre and Whirlpool 8. Whiteout and Peril (idk why but she's very pretty in my mind) 9. Glory :) 10. Queen Melty Face (thanks to fact that I finished Escaping Peril right before I played Clue for the first time, I always play as Miss Scarlet) 11. Sandwings have huge ears (since I like to think they can hear prey under the sand and it will help cool them down AND its just cute) 12. Qibli (IM SORRY HE JUST GETS TOO MUCH ATTENTION FOR BEING LIKE THE MOST SELFLESS HERO EVER AND IT BOTHERS ME) 13. Anemone, and maybe its because I just blame the parents entirely for how bratty their kids turn out (*cough* Winter *cough cough*) 14. Tamarin and/or Whiteout because I'm just a sucker for characters with disabilities that just couldn't care less that they're different 15. Glorybringer because I can 16. I know they're technically not related but Sunnyflight. Why would you ship siblings? (Also Sunny doesn't have romantic feelings for Starflight anyway) 17. This is more like my favorite underrated friendship, but Winter and Kinkajou. Okay, hear me out. When the Jade Winglet found Chameleon to steal the scroll, Winter was ready to pound his greedy little self into the ground because he recognized that he was the dragon that put Kinkajou in a coma. Also their interactions in book 10 (not just in the epilogue, but the Night Kingdom too) were straight up adorable. 18. When Blister was like "hey yo I got you two be prepared to die" 19. When Osprey died. It was so sad because Peril just had to watch her mentor and friend plummet to his death, knowing her interfering would only make it worse. 20. I think when Tsunami fought the statue. When you realize "oh heck that thing is attacking Tsunami" you still have no idea what is even happening or how or why and its amazing because she's also protecting her CURRENTLY HATCHING little sister while she's kicking an enchanted stone's butt and I love it. It could also be when Qibli finally got the earring on Winter, and right before he passed out Winter just had this instant realization like "um ok Darkstalker is evil and I think I just killed my best friend what happened" and its just a weird mix between sad and cute and awesome Love your vids, Cyprus!

Darkstalkers not overrated. He it one of if not the most complex character there is in the Wings of Fire universe. You wasn't just some edgy teenager he was a kid who had a terrible upbringing and wanted Revenge but ultimately also wanted love and a normal family and was going to do anything and everything forget it even if he lost his soul in the process. And I'll admit book 10 ending was a good idea it was an interesting concept I don't think it was written very well and really could have been done better. Although honestly I would have liked to have had happened that is Darkstalker getting a Redemption Arc and a happy ending getting to live with a clone of Clearsight that was made from a rock instead of another living dragon. Although admittedly this last part is a bit of me being Darkstalker fanboy but I still want to see it happen even though it never will sadly.

Though I secretly would like him to have a redemption arc, it would make a lot of fans mad about the fact Darkstalker murdered thousands of dragons and did a lot of other bad things. Sure, I kind of want one, but I think you should think about the fact his dark backstory and childhood and him going insane from his animus powers aren’t very good excuses for the horrible things he did, making him not very worthy for redemption. Yes, he could’ve been a good person and could still be one (from a little fixing with magic), but I don’t think Tui would’ve considered it. Also, you have to think about the fact HE SHOULD BE DEAD. HE WASN’T EVEN SUPPOSED TO LIVE THAT LONG. I know that isn’t a very strong argument, but I still wouldn’t like a dragon that should be dead walking around living happily just because he made himself immortal 2,000 years ago because he was becoming insane. Kinda weird. Just my opinion. You can ignore it. Point is, looking at all the terrible things he did, no matter the reason for doing them, he doesn’t deserve a redemption.

And he wasn't really a living for 2,000 years, sure he was alive but he was sleeping in a cave for that entire time. Yes if he can change for the better he deserves Redemption and a happy life.

@@korbinservergundam I never said he deserved death, I just meant that turning him into Peacemaker was a good decision. No, he didn’t deserve death, but he also didn’t deserve redemption. So it was the best choice. Even though he didn’t live his entire life as Darkstalker, it wouldn’t be right to let him live out the rest of his life happily. He would need to be sane again, and they only way to do that, to change for the better, is with animus magic. That would be wrong, as there would be no real reason to change him. I understand that you think he deserves better, but he doesn’t. He deserves exactly what happened to him. And, like you said, in his mind he was fighting a war and protecting what matters most to him. Just because he THOUGHT he was doing the right thing, doesn’t make it right. I know that he only did most of those bad things because he was going insane, and that he was only going insane from his small bad choices he made from his bad experiences that spiraled into him going insane, but that still doesn’t give him an excuse. So, as I have said, he deserved it entirely. All Darkstalker wanted to do was protect what mattered most to him, yes, but killing and using his animus powers for evil was not the right way to do that. Him going insane isn’t an excuse for that, his bad childhood isn’t and excuse for that, his love for Clearsight and Whiteout weren’t excuses for that. He has nothing to blame but himself for making those bad choices, no matter what happened that led him to it. It was HIS decision to do those things. No matter how crazy he is, murdering THAT amount of lives is not something that should be forgiven. I am going to say this one more time. No matter what you want to think. He. Does. Not. Deserve. Redemption.

Just because you killed a few people does not mean he's Beyond Redemption and no he did not deserve what happened to him. To say that he got what he deserved is just wrong and cruel. What he was doing wasn't really evil. And no I don't believe it would have taken an easy magic to change him, although it certainly would have helped Maybe by him giving himself a vision of what it was like to live in other people's shoes like Moon Winter and even Clearsight.

God basically every answer I heartily agreed with you. (Except for over and underrated, as that would imply I know how other people rate these characters, and me living under a rock has no knowledge on what other people think. Other people??? You expect me to know how other people in the fandom view the characters?!?) Though I do agree. Tamarin be cool and chill. esp loved her chat to Turtle about Animus magic isn't all that great really. I put Smolder just cuz his semi-sarcasm, and also that moment he rushes out to meet Onyx. That and he somehow kept Rose alive for 20 years when you know Burn would love another scavenger in that freaking tower. Himself alive too for that matter. Beyond that, I found the least favorite character really hard actually. I forgot about the alternates existed for some reason, and basically nobody else is activelly bad. Though personally I think Orchre is the worst. I at least feel bad for Squid, even if he is not at all deserving sympathy with his whining... but Orchre is just... no. I put in Chameleon just cuz he got stale in book 10. He was fascinating in that horrifying way that's everywhere in this series, but him showing up again was a little, seriously??? You learned NOTHING?!? Like if he was hell bent on revenge, fine, but he's just rolling over for Vulture and just... GRRRR. Also, I had a very strong facepalm moment with the aesthetically pleasing question. I... uh... I put Blaze. I forgot the Drakstalker Legend existed for a moment, So no Whiteout, no Indigo, (I really dig the purple color she's got. Also just. WHOLESOME. The both of them!) no Sunstreak (though I think thats technically book 11 prologue...) and like literally any RainWing would be a better option than *Blaze* Like, yeah she's pretty, but christ I roll my eyes at her every other line.
