Great video! Why didn’t you pick up both nectars in the tray for the Cassin’s Finch play? I don’t understand leaving that when you could’ve used the other to play the finch.

Probably to have the extra worm to discard onto the swift at the end of the round. It's worth a point there, whereas it's only worth a tally in the nectar race in the forest, so the point is not guaranteed.

think you could have drawn cards in place of the wood stork to get more worm cashes even with bonus valued at 4 pts

When you say normally not a fan of Mourning Dove in the Wetlands is it just because tuck and lay birds work there and are better or is there a different issue? I'm normally excited by Dove in Wetlands (though I prefer grasslands unless I have a reason). End game seems easier if you play Mannikin and Flycatcher (spending Nectar for berry) and then play Wood Stork off Mannikin, it is one of the EoG birds that can play in any habitat right?

Although I believe he could have done Manakin (with wheat) and Flycatcher (with nectar and two grub) during Round 4 and going Fish/Fish/2 Wheat on Stork for Manakin activation the question is whether the two points for grassland nectar were worth knowing your bonus card ahead of time so you could decide if it is worth taking Manakin activation. For example, if Oologist was drawn that might impact what birds you take eggs from.

Can't you just play Mannikin and Flycatcher the last two turns, then play Wood Stork with the Mannikin. Gives you the nectar points in the grassland plus three extra eggs for the EOR. Think you may have confused it with the bird that only allows plays in the grassland lol.

Yeah I think there were just too many options at the end - I felt like there must've been a way to get some nectar down and your way sounds good! I'm just glad it didn't make a difference here

After playing a common grackle in my last game and then watching this game I've realized there in an inconsistency with how Wingspan is programed, and I was wondering if there's an official rule for such situations. For the grackle if you tuck you automatically get an egg placed. For the maned duck you have the option to tuck and you have the option to get the grain or not. For brown powers, if you activate them do you have to do all steps described, or can you half-activate brown powers?

That's a great point- because there's a couple situations like where a Lesser Whitethroat is in play you may not want the egg

As far as I know, the rules say that you can always forego a benefit, so you should be able to half-activate brown powers
