Thank you so much... My dad was playing tenor pan on this record. Being able to play this to him in hospital at the end made him happy and brought back a lot of memories. He said when Winifred Atwell turned up for the recording she couldn’t believe that everyone knew their parts despite never having heard the whole song. Each section had learned their piece by ear and played on cue perfectly, first time. Trini pan men’s professionalism impressed even the great Atwell!

Brings back sooo many memories. My uncle Kenneth Superville, Mom's youngest brother was a member of this pan side at this time, and the band was part of our family. 💖💖💖

I went with my parents when I was very young to see the show at the oval in the rain & mud. I bought the record and played it over & over. What a awesome woman playing with my favourite ‘Pan Am North Stars’ steelband. I lived on Nepal Street in St. James and would hear, almost daily, Tony Williams tuning pans across from the standpipe...and this was my favourite tune: sublime!

In my teens I copied this piece into a cassette from one of my Dad's LPs. After he passed, his LP collection went to my uncle. Thanks to the interweb and utube, I can enjoy this wonderfully executed piece once again.

Mr. Robert Tanner, you may have what you consider a better version of this historic collaboration, but you must bear in mind that you said you have an "old 78 recording" of this that is better, and it may be so, however, i think you should hold onto that for your own posterity while we hold onto this for ours!

Winifred Atwell was the best off all time. But this is not the best version of Rhapsody in Blue. I have an old 78 record of this that is better..
