This is how DIY videos should be made. This is great and simple. I haven't started yet and am going to order the twisters now. Moved into a house a year ago and have seven blinds that need replaced. I hope it's as simple as you made it seem!

I changed my tilt control, once I had returned the wrong part and got the right one. Works like a charm. I don't think I would have figured it out without your video, so thank you for that!

Excellent instructions. I replaced the part and put the blind up again in less than 10 minutes. I would suggest to take the broken part out before ordering the replacement so you can get a precise match; vendors use the same name for parts that have slight differences. And take your own pictures before taking the part out. Thanks so much, it cost less than $4 dollars to get the blind working again !!!

Would it stand to reason that I could swap wands to new corded mechanism? My Horizontal faux blinds are way big/heavy and the wands are snapping the hooks while turning them. I’ll take any input
@DIYProjectsByDave Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. That is a great question. It would depend on if you can find a tilt mechanism with strings that is the same shape as you Old tilt version. Before going that route I would test the tilt mechanism with the blind laying on the floor and make sure that everything works smoothly and nothing is not bound up.

Where do you go to buy tilt mechanisms? So far I've only found them online
@DIYProjectsByDave2 жыл бұрын
Yeah we got them online also. Thanks.

Thanks for posting this video. I knew it was going to be easy, but couldn't figure how to get the rod to move down far enough for the cluster to fall out.

Don't pull the metal rod thru the drum as shown. That can break the plastic drum support and then you'll have to replace that too. Better to lift all three drums from the three cradle supports. Gently spread the top of the blind and the tilt mechanism should also lift up. Now you can pull off the broken tilt. Insert new tilt on to metal rod and line it up and push it and the three drums into the support brackets.

Thank you for your feedback! It is important to get the right one for the specific blinds. We used the page on fixmyblinds.com to find ours. www.fixmyblinds.com/tilt-mechanism-buying-guide.html. For us, the specific one is the TILTER-031 (www.fixmyblinds.com/low-profile-wand-tilter-premium-1-4-hex-hole-tilter-031.html). Thank you and have a great day!
