On Tuesday, over 200 FedEx employees had the rug pulled from underneath them. FedEx and FedEx ground are merging and closing four local sites in the process.

I was an Express employee for 41 years. When the company obtained RPS Express and changed their name to FedEx Ground the crap started. It’s taken this long but now that the founder is no longer involved, his son and the current CEO are running this once great company into the ground. The have absolutely no concern for their hourly employees like they used to have. So glad I retired and got out when I did.
@erikt454Ай бұрын
No doubt you're glad to be outta there... the merger has been a total disaster where I am. Our bosses at the morning speeches said there wasn't much interest among ground staff for joining Enxpress, but an actual Ground employee told me a bunch of managers at ground applied, as one has to do at this company that has zero loyalty to its workers, and they hadn't heard back, and were scrambling to look for jobs elsewhere, so Fedex could save on buy-outs... Everyone I know who's been there longer than me says it wasn't the toxic workplace it's become. Oh, and some managers love snitches. And some snitches think telling on an open van door, or a driver wearing an incorrect fedex shirt is going to gain said snitch some kind of meaningful respect from Corporate. I'm glad their shares are tanking, if people knew how bad it was they'd dump their shares yesterday.

I WORKED at Punta gorda express site. We heard this rumor at the start of 2023 with no actual news from the higher-ups. The station started losing drivers fast just from the rumors at least 3 drivers a month. We all saw the writing on the wall. All our vehicles were being swapped out with rental vans and gave zip code areas to the ground station down the road. I left after news years. It's better to look for another job before this happened. Now all my co-workers are truly terrified. At this point the only option is find another and quit the day you ready. They don't deserve 2 weeks notice.

These layoffs need to be made national news. They aren't the first frontline employee layoffs they've done in the last year. FedEx is going to keep doing this very slowly all around the US to keep it in the local news only.

Corporate won’t allow it. That’s why Spencer Patton left. Corporate wants all the control without any responsibility. So they setup the company as a Pyramid Scheme forcing Drivers into the Subcontractor model. No phones allowed, No breaks get yelled at when someone else misses their package for their truck you get yelled at for not scanning their package and work barcode. You're doing 4 trucks and get told to move fast when its BUSY AF! The people on the front trucks don't want to sort the packages making it hard to find yours then you miss 10 packages with your truck number and they have to run through again. This job blows smh I've been here for almost 1 month. And they love to switch the start time at the last minute too so they can write you up.

Remember when you ship something that FedEx wants nothing to do with people having a good job and retirement. They pay a few contractors/ISP's good but the majority are money pits that entrepreneurs get suckered into massive debt to obtain and they have no issue screwing contractors out of their contract and control who they can sell the contract to. Drivers are screwed the most, usually hustling for not much more than minimum wage with no benefits. Express was a good job but FedEx is doing away with it. Last week at UPS I grossed $2740 in just under 51.5 hours. I can net $1200 in a three day work week. Yeah, we are more expensive but our drivers can contribute to the economy instead of living in their parents basement. Yeah, I contracted for FedEx for over a decade so I know the deal.
