Winnebago Micro Minnie 1 Year Review
Sharon and MiLena, the Two Tired Teachers, looked at the Winnebago Micro Minnie after having had it for a year. The bottom line is that we still love it.
The reason we are doing the review is to let you know that after a year we still love the Micro Minnie.
The length of the Micro Minnie is wonderful. It is 21'11" long. A longer RV would not have fit into many of the campsites we stayed at in 2019.
The 7' width has also made driving much easier, especially in construction areas. Construction areas and high traffic areas are much easier in the 7' wide Mico Minnie.
While we wouldn't have chosen a blue trailer, we do like it. It stands out.
On the outside of the Micro Minnie,, we (especially MiLena) is thrilled to have two steps instead of three or four steps. It makes a world of difference.
Also, having the steps in front of the axel, makes them lower to the ground and a more consistent height.
Getting a 12' awning on an RV the size of the Micro Minnie is very nice.
The smaller propane tanks has been one of the nicest things about the Micro Minnie. It's 30 gallon tanks instead of 40 gallon tanks inside doors on the fifth wheel.
Power jacks have made life easier than it would have been with manual jacks.
Although the slide looks very small from the outside, it makes a world of difference on the inside. A small slide doesn't add more than 18" to the outside of the travel trailer.
The outside shower has been a great thing. We've used it for dishes when we've dry camped rather than putting the water into our gray tank.
Having a ladder on the Micro Minnie has been a bonus. We've used it at Padre Island National Seashore to get the salt and sand off of the roof and slide and at campsites to wipe down the solar panels.
Moving to the inside, the twin beds have been perfect for us. The bolsters we have on our beds have given us another place to rest and relax.
Having the closet in between the beds keeps us from seeing whether the other one is reading. The light isn't visible from one bed to the other.
The curtains with the microfiber backing has been so useful both in summer and winter. They keep out the heat in the summer, and insulate us from the cold in the fall and winter.
Behind Theo's crate, we can store a case or two of water. We could store it in the van, but it's more convenient inside.
The curtain that came in the RV between the beds and the living area is a good thing to have. The light from the refrigerator and the entertainment center is enough to bother Sharon at night. With the curtain pulled, she doesn't see those lights.
The slide gives us much more room inside the RV. Opening the slide gave Abby some space to sleep. (We had to have Abby euthanized on January 13, and we really miss that sweet dog.)
We use the counter under the TV as a charging station. It is a wonderful place to charge the camera, our phones, and other electronics.
The galley is incredible. The lip around the sink is wide enough for bowls or cups. The extension at the end of the counter also adds some prep space. Additionally, we have two sink covers which could give us even more prep space.
We took out the stove top and oven to add storage and give more space. We use the microwave and a camp stove.
The refrigerator is perfect for us. We like having a separate freezer space.
The mirror on the bathroom door is a great addition. We could take a quick look at how we look, but, more importantly, it makes the space we have look larger.
The bathroom is really large. The shower has lots of elbow room. We also learned that the shower is a great place to put water for the pets.
One other renovation we had done is turning the bathroom closet into shelves.
We could not be more pleased than we are with the Winnebago Micro Minnie.
