After watching this vid., I pulled that gen. trick but with my marsh. instead and nabbed both my opponent's unknown general as well as a bonus cap. Amazing how effective such a simple tactic can be.

Yeah, it really can be, don't use it too often though because if your opponent gets used to you doing that you are going to get scouted much for often then you are going to get a general.

Why do you block other players?

I block other players for two reasons, one, if they keep joining my game when I am in position where I need more points than a win against them would provide me, or if they play a playstyle consistently which I deem a waste of time to face. For example, some players just run in with their marshals immediately and call bluffs in situations where it makes no sense.
