That aside, I really am looking forward to us finally, at long last, playing the critical mass approach with Estevao wide right and Palmer inside right and either James or Gusto drifting up to support. That trio of talent is just absolute madness to try and surpress and any defense is likely to either not do enough, in which case they just combine their way through, or massively overdo the effort, which opens the door for cross to diagonal runs from the left. It's one of those "rinse and repeat" things that the opposition can see from a mile away but can't really do a whole lot about. And I really hope Maresca isn't too tactically rigid to exploit it mercilessly.

Just a note, I believe the purpose of purchasing all these young players is to develop them due to their high ceiling. Some are purchased ready to go now, others to develop and hopefully start challenging the first team players. To a Enzo there is a Casadei and to a Caicedo there is a Santos, and so on… Nkunku was the first team player, and Palmer the developing player. Nkunku got injured, Palmer took his position. Nkunku is 100% for sale. But obviously we can’t say that directly. Nkunku is the perfect way of showing how the model works. The new Nkunku is either Felix or Paez. To say players like Casadei are directly done is silly to me as he is one of the developing players where not much pressure is on. Axel and KDH are maybe more likely in the shop window as they are meant to be ready to go first team players. Achempong has taken Axel’s position. KDH for Casadei. Next season I see Casadei swapping with Santos. Keeper and striker is needed only.

Nkunku tagged a flop without playing him in his best position, same thing we did to Salah, we dont players enough opportunities before tagging them flops
