This was our 24th National. We have never had a bad time even before our son was born. The first one he went to, he was in a stroller and he is now 6’4” and 20 years old. It has definitely grown over the years. The only problem I saw this year was the overwhelming amount of people there which is actually a good thing for the hobby. I don’t think the people in charge had any idea of the walk-in amount of people. This led to the parking problem. There have been issues in the past but the National people do listen to the complaints and compliments and try to address them in future shows. We have been to the Rosemont in Chicago many times. The best thing about the Chicago show is it’s not in the city and it’s near O’Hare Airport. If they get the same crowd next year then I think parking will be a nightmare also but there will be more options to combat that. We love the hobby and have fun. Thank You !!!

Theo you bring up an excellent point about badge mailing. This is certainly an option the National needs to look into. When buying a VIP, Super VIP, or 5 Day Early Entry package the National should offer the option of having your badge mail to you for a fee. Great video Theo, and I am glad you had an awesome time at the National with many of your hobby buddies from KZbin. I guess selfishly, am kind of bummed, that the National will be in Chicago for, the next 3 years. Me personally, I think the show should have a different location each year. A west coast venue. Whether that it's in Dallas, California, or Vegas, etc. The Mid-west where it's been, Chicago, Cleveland or even throw in some where, like, Tennessee or Indianapolis. And of course an east coast destination. Whether that's New York City, Philly, D.C. Or just going back, to Atlantic City. But I digress. Also, I know a lot of people on this side of the hobby are not the biggest fans of Fanatics, though they do have a good opportunity to expand to various places. NYC fan fest is, just the start of something fun and special. Believe they will be having an event, I want to say in Orlando, Florida too.....

the vip lounge should be similar to how they do it at baseball games. I don’t think SGC not doing on-site grading was a red flag at all. PSA didn’t mainly for a money grab, likely from breakers, and I get that. SGC has the best service and fastest turnaround times in the grading industry. They were accepting in person submissions; I did one of these at the Midwest Monster and had my cards back in 19 business days. Also, Peter was at the SGC booth and open to talk to collectors. Great takes - you are going to see a lot of "I agrees" in my comments. It was fun meeting you at the KZbin get together - agree there was a good amount of vintage at the show - agree the ultramodern tables were mobbed. Floor layout was great - I knew I hit everywhere - spent Thursday looking and Friday buying - could find my way back to every table I wanted to. Agree it was easy to avoid the Corporate area - made time much more efficient. Yes! walking through the breaker area last year was like walking through a bizzarro alternate world that was so hot and congested that I dreaded going from section to section. Cut the VIP area in half in Chicago and move the breakers off the main floor. At least at Cleveland the area was easy to avoid. SGC was back - half the cards I bought were SGC which hadn't happened in decades. For entry they need to let VIPs and early entry an hour early - staggering start times by an hour instead of 30 minutes. With only 30 minutes in between everyone is getting there at the same time. YEP WHY CAN'T WE GET OUR BADGES EARLY!! I live in Chicago but agree it needs to move around. Having a National in Chicago in 1989 when I was in high school helped cement me as a collector forever. Back then it moved all around the country. I had a great show - picked an all-time card from my collection in a Musial rookie, talked with tons of people and added some great cards to my collection. I commented how much I liked your Milk Duds Clemente at the KZbin event and the next day I was able to pick-up a Banks (Have a Banks run and moving into the oddball stuff).

If you didn't get internet through your phone carrier and you had issues with the wi-fi at the venue, the venue doesn't care about the people they hosted. I believe the streams run on a different network, but can't imagine the use of that much bandwidth doesn't naturally hurt the usage of the internet for dealers/attendees.
